DVD Thinpak and other Slim Cases - Page 10

Chad, I just sent you email explaining the differences between these cases and the ones sold in the US. To be honest, I really don't expect many of the 4-DVD cases to be wanted for this order, as there is a a close option available in the US (different styling and only 1/16" thicker). Of course there are those people who are crazy for cases like me....so who knows?
Wade I didn't get the e-mail, can you PM it to me? I'm not sure why, the only thing I can think of is my ISP has some pretty heavy spam filters, and depending on the content your e-mail address is kind of long. Perhaps it mistook it for spam and it's at their server level, so I can't turn it off.

Just wanted to bump this to remind anyone else interested in ordering 5-, and 6-DVD thin cases to email me by tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. I plan on contacting the OZ company sometime Thursday.

What are all you folks who are so busily converting to thinpaks doing with the leftover full-sized cases? I've gone through a conversion of my own--to Discsox--but I haven't figured out what to do with all the old Amaray cases. I'd hate to fill a landfill, and I don't think they are recyclable. (I have it on good authority that No. 5 recyclables, in this case polypropylene, cannot in fact be recycled.)

Put up something about the cases on on the for sale forum. I'm sure plenty of people want them.
I got the quote for the group order last night. For 157 total cases, the totals are (all in AUS$):

59 5-DVD @ $2.65 = $156.35
98 6-DVD @ $4.45 = $436.10
freight shipping = $120.00
GST = $71.25

Total = $783.70 (AUS) = $572.10 (US)

I'll be emailing everyone sometime tonight with their portion. As soon as I can collect from everyone by paypal or money order, I'll get the order made.

Just found out that 7- and 8-DVD cases in the slim 'flipper' style do exist. Unfortunately, they can only be ordered in sets of thousands. Your spines are safe for now, Ric.
Are the 7 discers from the same place in OZ or did you find them somewhere else?
Yep, same place. I've been trying to look elsewhere for these, though. No luck so far.
I wonder why they'll sell smaller quantities of the other cases and not those...
My guess would be a different supplier of the 7's and 8's.
Wade if you have any luck with the 7 & 8 discers please let me know. With those I could convert my I Love Lucy Season 1 discs and put them all in one place..
Just to keep everyone up to date, I'll be express mailing the order for the slim 5's and 6's tomorrow. Last time it took about 3 weeks from the time I mailed the order to the time I had cases in hand.

ChadP2k...no luck so far on the 7's and 8's. They're bound to turn up somewhere sometime
post #285 of 1013
Well with Christmas behind us I imagine this thread will liven back up again for a bit... all of us likely have lots of new DVDs to convert to ThinPaks ;-)
I can't wait to convert my Stargate SG-1 season sets to Slim 5's (doing the alpha quintuple to slim 5 conversion myself)! *kneels down and bows before Ric*
post #287 of 1013
I'm new to the forum and would like to get hold of some of the slim DVD cases so, Wade, if you could either e-mail or pm me the e-mail of your OZ contact, that would be great. Thanks.
Kelvin, I ordered some extras with the recent group order. I'll email you when I get back home in a few days to see your needs, and might have enough to cover you at the cheaper shipping rate we got.
Wade --

If you have any extras I am definitely interested! Willing to purchase 20+

Thanks!
Hi Wade,

Didn't get your e-mail. Perhaps a pm might be a better idea. Also, I suspect it might be cheaper for me to get hold of the cases from your source in Australia since I stay in Singapore. It will probably cost at least as much if not more to ship from the US to Singapore as from Australia to Singapore. But let me know anyway.
Hi, Wade I may be needing some more also. I am out of town, but my girlfriend told me the ones you sent arrived the day I left.

Randy, I'll email you after I hear from some people. I should have some 5- and 6-DVD cases left over.
Wade,

Any sign of the cases, yet?
Andrea, nope not yet. I'll email them when I get home from work to get an update.
Emailed them last night, but as they're closed on the weekends, won't have a response until Sunday night (US time).
I always wanted to convert my collection to the thin cases ever since getting Famil Guy but then the spine is unreadable if you use the same coverart, and looking at the spines is an easy way to browse for movies.
Does anybody out there have any of the "slim triple" cases you'd be winning to sell? I haven't been able to find any on any sites besides eBay, and I didn't really need 50 of them. I e-mailed the seller and we agreed on a price for 10 of them, I paid him for them and after waiting and sending three follow-up e-mails I have no cases and he won't even reply.
The group order should be mailed out from OZ on Monday or Tuesday
post #299 of 1013
They haven't shipped the order yet? What have they been doing the past 4 weeks?
Most of their offices were closed down for two weeks around the holidays. I suspect they also had some sort of delay from their supplier. I'll be sending them out the day after they get to me.

They're not really an Internet retailer (online billing, etc.) so to protect my info, I sent the billing info by international priority mail. As with the last order, not the quickest turnaround, but the quality is there.
