DVD Thinpak and other Slim Cases - Page 7

I have to resort to buying some at Walmart. Like Dave said everyone is sold out! I wish you could buy directly from NexPak.

Chalk up one more convert from the silm double amarays to the double thinpak. Ordered a 25-pack to test them out and like them quite a bit better. Now to make another order...
To my surprise, my slim triples arrived today. Way cool. So far I've converted Brotherhood of the Wolf (3-disc collector's edition), Back to the Future Trilogy, Minority Report (2 discs plus an exclusive Best Buy disc that was stuck to the cover), and Cleopatra. Big thumbs up.

I like! What's the thickness? About the same as a regular single case? Looks like I have something new to order.

Andrea Very Nice where did you get those? How do they look when you Place them next to the Thin Paks? Also how are those Hinged disc holders? I'm gonna try to finish my other 400 single disk to Thin Pak conversions before I tackle the double and triple disks but it's good to see how they look. Now if only someone would have the Thin Paks in stock !
Andrea, if you're still planning on selling some of those triples in smaller lots (I could use 3), email me. I'd like to try them out. Thanks.
Ric,

They are exactly the size of a standard single keepcase.

Dave,

The only place I could find these things now was eBay. Hold your thinpak next to a standard single keepcase, and that's how it looks. I'm working on my thinpak conversion as well. I've done probably close to 400. I have about 20 snappers left and then the 2 disc digipaks that I'm replacing with double thinpaks. I LOVE thinpaks.

Wade,

YGM!

Andrea, YGM back.
Andrea, how are you doing the art for the snappers?
DeeF, I've been downloading covers from dvdcoverart.com and adjusting them to fit thinpaks. All but 14 of my snappers had covers there. For those 14, I guess I'll try my hand at scanning them myself and making the thinpak covers. If they turn out well, I'll be sure to upload them to dvdcoverart.com.

I tried uploading thinpak coversions of single size keepcase covers to dvdcoverart.com, but they won't accept thinpaks unless they are requested. Bummer.
I've got a lot of snappers, I guess because I like old movies, and Warners has control of a lot of these.

My original order of 260 ThinPaks and 25 Double ThinPaks was used up long ago. I have about 1000 DVDs, so I still have a lot that weren't converted. I purposely didn't convert the Criterions, because they may be valuable (also the Disneys).
The new slim triple cases serve a much needed purpose.

Finally, I can print out the single DVD case cover for 10th Kingdom DVD miniseries that ranged from 2 to 3 disks and came in several different packaging varieties. It also worked great to add the bonus CD to my Sleeping Beauty DVDs. The hub is slightly better than that of the tray portion used on the original Amaray slim doubles. There is a full case side for your inserts.

Genesys now has the Slim-4 in clear available.

Well, that's easy enought to fix... give us a list of what's been converted and I think the requests will start flowing
post #195 of 1013
Received a few slim triples today (thanks Andrea) and have to agree that they are very cool. In fact, with the type of interior flaps being used, I think someone could put two of them into a normal sized 2-DVD case and have it hold five (or perhaps seven DVDs in a normal triple...strong hint to the manufacturer)

If anyone's interested, I've completed inserts for the slim triples for the following:

The Young Ones
Fawlty Towers
V (both miniseries in one case)

and am working on:

Kieslowski's Three Colors Trilogy
The Decalogue
Shackleton

If you would want any of them, please request them on Dvdcoverart.com. I'll post a list of completed single and double thinpak insert modifications as soon as I sort out which I scanned myself and which I modded from Dvdcoverart.com

If anyone comes up with a trilogy cover for The Prophecy series with Christopher Walken, let me know.
Hey Andrea, I just sent you an email - I would love 6 of the triples...lemme know (I live in TX too, where are you located?)

Also, what was your search on eBay? I am looking and can't find them...

Michael, I'm in San Antonio. I have to double-check, but I think I only have 1 or 2 extra slim triples left. The guys over at DVDTalk sucked me dry. There are some auctions on eBay currently, though. Searchffor "slim triple dvd" in the Electronics & Computers > Office Products > Media, Blank > Cases-Jewel, CD, DVD category:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...ategory3=41798

I'll post back here tonight with my official count of the leftovers, but it's definitely fewer than 6.
Ouch - $60 for 50!

I wish i could get about 10 in an auction...can't get these anywhere else?
I haven't found them anywhere else. I see the current auctions for 50 going at $40 - $48. I paid $40 for 50 plus $12 shipping, for a total of $52. So it came out to about a $1 a piece, which is what I was selling my extras off at.

I have 2 slim triples left.

I also have some double alphas (black, silver, and white) that I want to give away. If you want those, all I ask for is the shipping cost plus 50 cents for a padded envelope (or box if you want a bunch).

I've got a message out to a company in Australia here . If you look at the third picture down, it has what looks like the slim triple with two flaps, which could hold 5/6 DVDs. According to the site, they're called DVD Multipacks and are made in sizes from 3-6 DVDs. They look like a bulk supplier, but I'm checking if they will do smaller orders for individuals
post #202 of 1013
There's another kind of slim triple available if you do a good google search, but it isn't as cool.

It has one disc to the left, one disc to the right, and one disc on a middle flap. No place for materials.

But I've seen it sold in packs of 10 for about 10 bucks. I don't recall where, because I decided I prefer the style that so far exists only on ebay.

But options are starting to come into being.

Update: It's at Genesys, but they don't have it in yet.

I just found another site with pictures of the thinner 5/6 DVD cases at http://www.mediatec.com.au/quick-sta...ng-ideas.asp#9 . I sent them an email to see if they sell small quantities to individuals, but so far haven't found anywhere here or overseas selling these.

I pointed them to this thread to show the growing interest in thinner DVD case options.
Wow, Wade, those 4 disc cases are incredible, they should really start selling them, I'd buy.
Will, tapeandmedia.com has the Nexpak Slim 4's:

http://www.tapeandmedia.com/detail.a...id=4DVD3-DKGRY

I have some of these and they are great. They are a different style than the ones shown on genesysdtp.com.
I found a insert template on another site for the higher capacity cases, and they match that for a Slim-4. I sooo hope that someone will sell me some of these.

BTW, I really like the hub design on the Slim-4s.
Hey guys!

I found these

Anyone have any experience with them? The price seems to be good...

-Mike
BTW - they also have the 4 pack in stock here
post #209 of 1013
Michael, I'm pretty sure both the 3 and 4 model by that manufacturer have 1" wide spines, so they're no advantage.

It says 22 millimeters, which is, um... I think that's an inch.
Good news. A company in Australia is going to sell me some of the various thin cases for 3 through 6 discs. I'll have to check the details when I get home, but I should have some extras of each size to sell at cost.
