Perhaps not as eagerly anticipated as, say, The Two Towers, I'm still very much looking forward to owning this on April 1. However I'm a little pissed they didn't use, ahem, the complete theatrical poster. Perhaps, inside it's complete... :b

Decent cover... I like it better than the theatrical poster - but not as good (or complete) as this one:

I missed this in the theaters. Needless to say, as one who finds Maggie Gyllenhaal completely and totally adorable, I'll be picking it up sight-unseen...

That's the one I meant, Marc. Didn't know there was any other...

From what I understand, this is the actual theatrical poster:

This is a wonderful movie. Really looking forward to the DVD. SteveGon -- Maggie Gyllenhaal is TERRIFIC in it. You're going to love her even more. If it were up to me, she'd be taking home an Oscar in March but I'll be shocked if they even nominate her.

Yes, that was the final theatrical poster, and the "legs" art was the teaser poster (which was pasted up all over NYC).

I somehow missed this in theatres. It was gone before I could go.

All I have to say is James Spader & spanking-- this disc already has my name written on it!

this movie never came anywhere close to me in theatres.. i'll probably be picking it up blindly.

I wasn't a big fan of the movie, but I LOOOOOVE James, so I might pick it up just for him. I love his boldness in taking roles someone like Tom Cruise would never touch.

going by the first 10 minutes so far,....interesting to say the least.

So is this something a kinky guy and his kinky wife can enjoy together? :b

the ending is a bit flat.

sound is very low.

but interesting and funny substance.

In a word, yes. I had some problems with the disc not playing in a sony or a pioneer player. Returned it for another and it played, but only in the Sony.

Anyone else have problems with the Secretary DVD?

BIG TIME David!
Lets just say that there is some definate roll-playing ideas, you and your wife can use.
This is a twisted, erotic submissive romance.

Buy this DVD sight unseen, put the kid to bed and enjoy Maggie and James.

I thought this movie had stellar performance by Spader & Maggie G.

I also LOVED the musical score by my favorite composer, Angelo Belatrami(spell?, sorry still sleepy)

John: it's Angelo Badalamenti.

Did anybody find that this movie plays BETTER in NON-progressive mode.

I'm curious about that. I don't have an HDTV, but I grabbed a few stills for my sig and got some odd and extreme motion artifacts I have only ever seen from a couple extremely cheap DVDs.

BTW, I seriously enjoyed Secretary. I thought it was hilarious.

See, I did too, until I took it off Progressive, then the picture was flawless.

other DVD's that have this problem are

Smallville First episode
Lost and Delirious
