Yamaha RX V3900 7.1 CH Home Theater Receiver

I wanted alot of clean power, this one has 140 watts x 7 speakers.  I messed up wiring one speaker, the receiver told me there was a problem, so I went back through the stuff and fixed it. once everything was wired in, it was easy to to calibrate it to the room with the provided Mic, I set it at my magic chair on the top where my head sits and then ducked down out of the way.  It timed the speakers perfectly.  I listened to it for a week before my buddy, who sets up audio for a living (25 year DJ) brought over some tuning discs, He was very impressed at the way it sounded.  We just made a few very minor tweaks to the volume level of the center channel only for personal taste, I like a little more voice and we pumped up the surround for a little more presence, he checked timing with his meters and told me that is why he recommended the Yamaha receivers to me in the first place. 

The sound is very clean and it has lots of cool features that are still up to date as my knowledge and need for them grows.  I would buy another Yamaha in a heart beat.  It is heavy though (50lbs) and I had to add metal stiffeners to my shelf.  I had an older Onkyo receiver in there I took out of my front room before I ordered this, it runs 110w x 7, there was no comparison in how much better the Yamaha sounded.
