Pros: special effects; humorous script; engaging stars
Cons: slightly too long
Thrilling action/adventure story about the unearthing of a 3000 year old Egyptian mummy Imhotep whose restoration will bring about the 7 plagues of Egypt. What Moses's plagues have to do with Imhotep is unclear but that doesn't matter in a movie like this. The script was humorous and the was acting quite good. Brendan Fraser as Rick O'Connell was made for these kind of movies. Rachel Weisz was perfect as archeologist/librarian Evelyn Carnahan. The rest of the supporting cast were good in their respective roles.

Video - 1080p with aspect ratio of 2.35:1. This was quite a nice looking picture with some grain noticed in some of the lighter scenes.

Audio - DTS- Hd Master Audio. A 5.1 DTS Surround French track was included. Good sound that didn't drown out the dialogue.

Special Features include deleted scenes; commentaries; Building a Better Mummy; Unraveling the Legacy of the Mummy.

Conclusion: This movie was quite an entertaining two hours, filled with humour and a worthy script honoring the Mummy legacy. Glad to have it in my collection.
