Pros: Superb audio and video presentation, solid extras
Cons: Never realizes its potential, odd-hybrid of action and comedy stylings

The Green Hornet has all the markings of the underdog superhero. It isn't part of the Marvel or D.C. universes - there are other Green superheroes with much more clout (The Green Lantern), and although it has been around for over 70 years, doesn't have universal name recognition. And it is an underdog, but it isn't scrappy or bold enough to capitalize on that label, and the soured fans at hearing of Seth Rogen's casting - along with the frustrated eye-rolling that came with the announcement that this film would undergo an upconversion to 3D - seemed to shoot the film in the knee caps before it even premiered. That's a shame because there are a few things to genuinely enjoy with this film...
