Pros: Good Location Photography, Interesting Extras
Cons: Not a lot to the movie
Cons: Not a lot to the movie
The Eagle is a fairly simple story told in the setting of the Roman Empire. It's actually more a personal story but it never really digs very deep into that material. As it is, it features some nice location photography of Hungary and Scotland, and some thoughtful performances by the leads and Donald Sutherland. Fans of the cast will want to rent this, and based on the commentary and an interesting online extra (a much fuller documentary than the one included on the disc itself), I can recommend a rental here.
