The Borgias: The First Season [Blu-ray] Reviews

Every network makes at least one try at a period drama.   Sometimes they work, but more often then not, it's a disastrous failure.  The biggest reason for this is because period drama can too easily come across as phony, camp and small mistakes hurt.    But when they are done well, they are intriguing, interesting and can pull the audience into a whole different period of our history.   The Borgias does a fantastic job of providing a solid cast, a well written story and a great look to make the audience want to watch and see how the whole thing will turn out.
