I have not had these very long, but so far they are performing great even with my cheapo Sony receiver. (receiver came from HTIB setup) They need more power for sure, and a lower crossover point. This would help tremendously. I can't help but wonder how much better I could make them sound with an EQ, but out of the box they are setup well. Tweeter can extend very high, and are on the bright side. Mid-range is very good. Woofer adds some impact, but my receiver crosses them so high on the bass side that the woofer barely moves. An 8" woofer in a cabinet of this size should be able to move a decent amount of air, and would allow for better integration with my subwoofer. I don't think a better tower speaker could be found for the price. $159.99 is for a PAIR, not just for one!
