Polk Audio R150 Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeakers

Pros: Size, price
Cons: Sound quality

I purchased these when putting together my budget home theater. I paired them with my old Pioneer receiver, Panasonic BD-30 blu-ray player, and Velodyne VX 10 powered subwoofer. I found them on sale for $50 a pair at Frys.com.

Performance wise, the sound is average. Lows were decent but midrange and highs suffered. Highs sound harsh at times, especially when turned up.

If you're putting together a budget system, they are better than the speakers you would find in a home theater in a box system. But if you can, spend a little extra for better speakers. I know I plan on upgrading the audio portion of my system soon.
