OPPO DV-980H 1080p Up-Converting Universal DVD Player with HDMI and 7.1CH Audio Reviews

 The upconversion from SD here is so uncanny it look like HD. Easily made region free, it's my ideal for watching PAL TV and movies. The deinterlacing is very fine, but does require that you manually set up the type of viewing you're doing (ie: PAL to HD). It's slim and sleek, looking great while taking up little to no space. 

I have the 981 model; HTF doesn't have it listed so I've put it under the 980. The onscreen screensaver is so low res you might worry if it's the first image you see from this player: a false alarm as the image quality is very sharp. So sharp, in fact, that compression artifacts may distract on some transfers.

 Best dvd player I have ever owned.
