Pros: Great sound, lots of HDMI inputs
Cons: Atari-looking menu graphics!

I ordered this receiver to replace an old Yamaha. It was recommended by someone else here. I wanted 7.1 surround sound at under $1000 and closer to $500 and my #1 request was a lot of HDMI inputs. All of the others in this price range only seemed to have 2 or 3 inputs, this receiver has SIX! 5 in the back and 1 extra one in the front which is nice if you ever have to plug something in like a video camera, etc.
The switching, upscaling, etc, is really great. I just have 1 HDMI cable going to my tv, everything is connected to the receiver with a variety of cables. I just wish it had a couple of s-video in ports. But still, it all works great.
I don't have super high-end speakers, just 2 floor standing Polk speakers in the front, a polk center and small JBLs in the back and a generic Sony subwoofer and it all sounds great. I like how I can have 2 subwoofers too, though in my room I don't have the space. Plus, I live in a condo and I don't want my neighbors to kill me.
I also like how you can have front-high speakers too. I haven't tried to set that up yet but I will try it soon.
Overall, this is a great receiver. It has tons of options and if you have a lot of gadgets it can definitely accommodate all of them! Despite the dated looking menu system, I found it easy to set up, too!
