The latest addition to KEF's Q series, the multi-purpose PSW2500 powered subwoofer has an attractive curved cabinet which is heavily braced to eliminate any unwanted "'box coloration". Using a 250-millimeter long-throw bass driver and a 250-watt built-in amplifier; this closed box design will deliver ground-shaking effects and depth, whether it is a movie or music. The PSW2500 also incorporates many new features such as ground lift ability and switchable movie/music modes. Pros: powerful, seems tight, can be picked up inexpensively
Cons: large, could over power a smaller room without an amp controlling it

Part of the KEF 5005.1 system. I have nothing bad to say. The auto turn on never takes too long, it doesn't get hot, has plenty of kick for a 10".
If I had a better amp I would keep it. Right now it's just being fed with RCA out from my tv and it's a little hard to keep from overpowering my new smaller room. For an apt without a good amp it might be too much. With an amp it could be set where ever you need it so it doesn't really matter.
