Pros: Great sound, lots of connection, lots of sound converters
Cons: No HDMI switching
This was my first purchase into the entry level home theater realm. Before this unit, I have an LG home-theater-in-a-box and for the most part I thought I was a rock star. Boy, was I wrong!

All the obvious aside, the H/K looked better, sounded better and offered more for me to grow into this ever increasing search for perfect sound and video. It has plenty of connection for HDMI, Component, Composite and a slew of audio converters (all but TrueHD and DTS Master)

The only downside is the lack of HDMI switching (for audio) and no up-scaling for component signals. No biggie - but eventually, I'll want to move up - however, until then...this receiver has been nothing but aces for me. The sound is incredible - H/K always lists their power rating so low - but I gotta tell ya, this thing makes my speakers SCREAM!

For the entry level HT enthusiast, I highly recommend this receiver.
