Pros: Improved sound and image over DVD version, Stallone is likeable
Cons: Average action film, weak script, poor acting

Daylight represents the mid-range of 90's action fare and is a frequent victim of an idea overpowering the execution and the visual and special effects taking center stage while the drama (and actors) and relegated to window dressing. Director Rob Cohen, a likeable director, has a few successful pictures under his belt - including The Fast and the Furious - and though he has shown competence in action sequences, his weakness in getting worthy performances from his actors and his willingness to let tired and eye-rolling moments appear front and center (imagine a youth offender looking through a bus window as a roll of fire barrels toward him as he slowly mouths "what the" and you get the idea).

Even bad action movies have their moments and Dalylight, despite its flaws, has a number of them.
