User Reviews: Children of Men [Blu-ray]

Pros: plot; dystopic setting
Cons: dialogue muffled and hard to understand at times
Cons: dialogue muffled and hard to understand at times
Depressing film about a dystopian society where no children have been born for 18 years. The last bastion of civilization is in Britain where immigrants are treated harshly and relegated to concentration like camps. Clive Owen stars as Theo, a dissatisfied office worker who is recuited by his ex-wife to escort a young pregnant refugee to safety. This was quite a dark and depressing, but realistic view of a crumbling society that is somehow uplifting at the end.
Video: 1.85:1 offering a nice clear picture, an improvement over the dvd.
Audio: DTS-HD Master Audio. I found the dialogue muffled at times but not sufficiently to downgrade my review.
There is a nice set of extras on this blu-ray especially the documentary called The Possibility of Hope.
Overall this is a stunning blu-ray, one I'm glad to have in my collection.
