Cons: No Extras, Some Strange Picture Issues at End Titles
Brazil continues to fascinate, even 26 years after its original release. It's probably more applicable today than in 1985, when you think about it. The new Blu-ray includes an 1.85:1 AVC transfer of the cut seen in theaters in America in 1985 - so this isn't the longer cut seen in Criterion editions, and the image has been cropped a bit on the top and bottom. There's also a little strangeness here and there in the image, but nothing that stopped the show for me. The sound is presented in DTS-HD MA 5.1, which is the first time the movie has been heard in anything but Dolby Surround - and the change is a nice one. I recommend the disc for rental or purchase for fans of Terry Gilliam who may prefer this shorter cut.
