Beverly Hills Cop is one of the best and most fondly remembered comedies from the 1980s. It helped to solidify Eddie Murphy's status as a huge box office star, and became the top-grossing film from 1984. It is, to this day, a riotously funny action-comedy, fully R-rated (for language), and unabashedly silly fun with Murphy more completely exploring the facets of his comedic skills - fast talking, slipping in and out of different characters, and running funny lines from his mouth in quick-fire succession.
