Be Cool [Blu-ray] Reviews

Most movie sequels are unnecessary affairs at best, and in the case of F. Gary Gray’s Be Cool, the sequel to Barry Sonnenfeld’s Get Shorty, that axiom is doubly true. A new adventure with now-mogul Chili Palmer ready to invade another aspect of the entertainment industry, Be Cool spins its wheels rather endlessly (two hours’ worth) for a story that could have been written on the head of a pin. Despite a first-rate cast of stars and character actors and some genuine good will established where everyone is trying hard to bring the funny, Be Cool is only moderately amusing and not nearly as hip as it’d like to be.
