Best film so far this year. Yup. That's right. I loved this movie despite its flaws. This will be a cult classic. You heard it here first!

Pros: Creepy. Intelligent and very different. Looks amazing. Liam Neeson is chilling.
Cons: Low budget shows sometimes. Some scares a bit predictable.

Boy has this movie provoked debate. A lot of people love this movie. Almost as many hate it. With a passion. Why? Well to begin with it doesn't quite fit into any easy genre. The studio positioned it as a horror which was a big mistake... anyone expecting a horror/slasher will be disappointed. And it doesn't play like most of the slick cookie-cutter garbage Hollywood's been shoving down our throats recently. It's DNA is more early Cronenberg and Dario Argento than Eli Roth or Michael Bay. It's pace is slower and the style richer and more atmospheric. The film has many flaws, and the low budget shows sometimes, but overall the movie works on many levels. Is the film for everyone? No. But those who like their films a bit weird and a bit different should check it out.
