Hi there... I've been away from the HT scene for quite some time. Used to be a regular here. It looks quite different since I've visited last. Had to re-register because I forgot my old password. Well... my old Harman Kardon AVR525 seems to have bitten the dust due to too much heat.

I know this is not a typical request for all you hard core HT folks here but I just need a simple quality receiver to replace my HK. I only need it to perform 2.1 tasks... no surround. Boring.. I know! But that's all I need. I'd like to keep it in the $200 range and don't mind another oldie but goodie from ebay. Always been an HK fan.. had an AVR80II before this one and AVR25 before that but am open to anything.. Marantz, Pioneer, Denon. On the warm side preferred.

What would you guys suggest?

Or.. perhaps I can buy a preamp and use the direct inputs? I believe the amp section is okay. I think the processor is what is failing. I was watching a dvd and first the sub acted strange.. like when a cd gets stuck in the same spot. Then the mains let out a higher pitched sound. I lost the highs in the tweeters at that time. I let it rest for a day. The next day I lost voices while watching a dvd.
