Hi Tony
Yes that is the version I had and the covers were taken from the VHS reissues. I may look into that one.
Thanks
Hi Randy!

You're welcome! I'm actually curious about that missing line, and would be inclined to order one of those Laserdiscs myself, except that I don't own a Laserdisc Player, and my wife thinks that we already have too many electronic devices! :P

Don't even get me started on VHS! I still have a bunch of VHS-C Home Videos that I haven't been able to bring myself to convert to DVD-R with the last decent batch of Sony DVD-R's that I'll likely ever be able to get my mitts on (At anything resembling a reasonable price, at least!), since Target closed their doors last April! :(

CHEERS! :)

One last thing and then I'll steer clear until a clip is provided...

The whole point to the telegraph scene was that it would be paid off later in the (deleted) courtroom scene, when the trial would be interrupted by a singing telegram boy. When the courtroom scene was deleted, they left this scene in, though they didn't have to...

Hello all,
I've been a Marx Bros. fan since their "revival" in the early seventies. I can tell you, and I'm absolutely positive about this, I saw the uncut version of Horse Feathers in 1973-74 here on Long Island N.Y. My friends and I where heavily immersed in anything "Marx"
and were well aware of the cuts in the TV prints of the film. We knew what we were seeing and it was the topic of conversation for many weeks after the viewing. I can't say if it was 16mm or 35mm but I know what I saw. This is not King Kong spider pit b.s.
Peace.

That's what makes the search so frustrating, we know it existed, and not that long ago, but all leads so far have apparently led to dead ends. Can you give any more info on where and when you saw it?

Definately either the Westbury theater on Post Ave. or the Hicksville theater on E.Marie St. Since it was over forty years ago my memory of which theater it was is fuzzy.Though I'm leaning towards Westbury. Hope this helps.

I've got three of the French Universal monster disks so far and they're great. Haven't watched House of Dracula yet, but both Son of Frankenstein and Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man look fantastic. No digital alteration at all, just really nice clean HD transfers. Region free, optional French subs. No supplements in English. There are four more scheduled for release... Werewolf of London, Revenge of the Creature and two Mummy pictures. I've got them all on preorder. Can't wait.

Regarding FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN, is that terrible tear in the credits that is there both visually and aurally been eliminated? I talked to a guy in restoration at Universal who said the film was preserved sometime ago. I think the previous versions were made from a fine grain since the sound tear comes a second after the visual tear. If they still have the original negative, it seems that could be fixed as the sound and visuals are not married.

Don't remember seeing any problems with the credits. I'll check again when I get the chance though.
