I was REALLY excited for the original 'Man of Steal' and I LOVED the film. But I'm severely disappointed that we didn't get at least one more Superman-only film before this Batman vs. Superman mashup. It could have waited until after Superman's character and alter ego were fully fleshed out in Superman-only film against Lex Luthor.

But, enough of that. This topic is about 'Deadpool' and it is an awesome film! Even my wife enjoyed it (but could have done with less violence). Bless her heart for going with me! :)

Amazing. Almost double what they were predicting. I'll be seeing it in IMAX Monday.

Blown away by the box office! Loved the flip-the-bird irreverence throughout the film, including the sarcastic jibes at its own universes (both comic and movie)!

Very fun film! Laughed from the opening credits, to the end of credits scene. It's great having an adult super hero movie. I will be seeing this again. And owning the bluray or UHD depending on how 20th century fox puts the latter together.

It just keeps getting better for Deadpool's box office.

From Deadline

" 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool is bigger than anyone thought possible. After posting the biggest opening day in February with $47.5M, the Marvel character also scored the second biggest day ever for the month with an estimated $41.88M. This now raises Deadpool‘s 3-day take to $133.4M, making it the second best debut ever for the first installment of a superhero property behind Disney/Marvel’s The Avengers ($207.4M). The Tim Miller-directed movie’s 4-day is now projected at $151M per industry calculations; some studios have it as high as $155M over FSSM. Typically fanboy films are frontloaded seeing drops of at least a third in their second day. Deadpool dipped -12%. This title is hitting some sort of zeitgeist with moviegoers."

Like I stated earlier, it's the type of film that takes multiple viewings to catch all of the jokes and references to pop culture. It's going to do repeat business among the male demographic, particular those that love such films that are "R" rated.

And since when was The Avengers the first installment of a superhero property? There were several movies leading in to it.

The official Box Office Mojo estimate is $135 million. $45 million on Sunday, even bigger than Saturday.

I saw this last night and to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Reynolds really was meant for this role, and the comedy/irreverence throughout was fantastic. I can't wait to watch it again.

Absolutely loved it but holy crap the sound systems in 'regular' theaters suck today. I havent seen a blockbuster in non IMAX in 3+ years, won't make that mistake again. IMAX or nothing.
