Fans of Peyton Place that bought Lost in Space Blu-ray will be happy to see the Carson House complete at Christmas time 1965 and also part of the Peyton Place docks from season 3 all in HD.

The recordings if you have them from Romance Channel really show the fall colors on the sets. The inside of the Peyton House looks great.

I wish Fox would consider this show for MOD.

Sunday I watched again Return From Outer Space on Lost in Space with commentary. The Carson house does look fantastic in this episode. Will be our only chance to ever see it this way.

I also wanted to remind fans that Land of the Giants has all the Peyton Place sets when the show ended it's run in the summer of 69. Giants had used the sets in the 68-69 season but the 69-70 season they went for all of them. You get the square plus inside sets everything. I bring this up for people who have region free players and can buy the DVD's from the The UK at a good price.

Time Tunnel in the very last episode used the docks which look great. Voyage used the square in a season 1 episode that starred Mrs Irwin Allen. Lost in Space returned again to Peyton Place sets in Visit to a Hostile Planet. Funny how the LIS cast was trying to figure out what set they were filming on until someone said it is Peyton Place which as they commented made sense. Reason because of the old look to the town.

Peyton Place fans I have heard the concern but not to worry. Peyton Place is far from a dead series. 20th Century Fox is coming out with some new programs right now. I hope that in the future they will address their vast TV library.

I also hope that if a company wants a series such as Peyton Place they will negotiate the license fee at a reasonable rate so the series can be released as a complete series release.

I have said here before the quality prints that Shout Factory gave us is fine with me. I just want the series released. I am very lucky to have good prints of the show but I know some fans have shall we say found other means to own the show.

I cannot as I have said in the past endorse or share or what ever you want to call it information on non official release of Peyton Place.

I found an exciting piece of footage on Peyton Place never had been seen reported it and it was taken down.

I felt very sorry for the person who just wanted to share that little scene with Peyton Place fans.

Well enough said. I have great copies but I want everyone to be able to share in this historic series from the 60s.

Remember what you read about Peyton Place in another thread was not fact but opinion. Here in the Peyton Place thread I state my opinion. Peyton Place the TV series is alive and still asked about.

I wish Shout would come to a deal with Fox and release the show at the lowest cost to them and Fox studios.

Well Thursday nights are Peyton Place nights so off to those church bells.

I think I read somewhere too that Dark Shadows benefitted from the producer himself keeping an archive of the tapes personally.

Dunno if it's true & don't remember where I read it, but it's too bad more didn't do it.

Dan Curtis, Producer of DARK SHADOWS owned the show outright and only sold it to ABC, as well as the show being dubbled in Spanish and sold overseas. He understood and knew the after-market value of the episodes.

The ABC Films (Later Wordvision) Syndication deal was set up right before the show ended in 1971. However, due to various issues regarding networks owning synidcation units, the show wasn't syndicated till 1975. He and ABC saw value in the repeats of the classic Barnabas episodes. First Soap Opera to by syndicated in reruns after a network airing.

Not to mention he did make two movies near the end and right after the series ended.

Happy Holidays to Peyton Place Fans. Check Amazon out for the Shout DVDs. I bought them even though I had my own recordings which I made from Romance Channel. Shout did a very nice job putting those DVDs together. The two volumes cover this time of year 51 years ago. You even in one episode see Connie taking down the Christmas decorations. I was pleased to hear the cast of Lost In Space during their commentaries on LIS episodes talk about the show the actors on the show and how Peyton Place set the standard for the tuning in for the next week show.

Remember also you that on LIS you get to see the Carson house decoratedfor Christmas 50 years ago this Christmas. The episode Return from Outer Space. Fun to see the Carson house in BD.

I also enjoyed hearing from the LIS cast how the Fox lot was back in the 60s when so many classics were being made.

I still hope for a release of the rest of the series.

Just come across this interview with Dorothy Malone in 1985 when she had made the TV movie: Peyton Place - The Next Generation. She also talks about the original series including the claim that she persuaded Brown & Williamson Tobacco to join the show as a sponsor, suggesting that if they hadn't ABC would not have had the minimum of the three sponsors they needed. Strange claim as ABC had already signed up more than three sponsors for the show!

Watching Dark Shadows the first year and really enjoy hearing during the credit roll plugs for Peyton Place and other shows that I do not even remember. The Peyton ones are fun because they give teasers at what is going to happen on that particular nights show.

I also have stated before it was fun to hear the cast of Lost In Space talk about the Peyton Place during their commentary on the episodes.

Remarks on the stars of the show even a few things I was surprised to hear. Fox was putting out a lot of shows in those days. Lots of them seem to land on ABC.

Since we have a new snow storm coming our way in Chicago I enjoyed the snow ball scenes from 1967 and the water front as the ship moved in and Stephen confronted Lee.

The films look great! Shout or Fox release the show MOD!!!!

I bought the two Shout! volumes way back when they were first released. Never watched them because I wanted to see more releases 'in the pipeline' before I started. (I've similarly delayed watching S3 of Falcon Crest hoping S4 will be announced. And it's not like there's ever a shortage of options on my 'to watch' shelf.)

I think the time has come to watch Peyton Place, even if it's just those first two volumes. I've certainly been looking forward to it!

yes I'm likewise - awaiting the final segment of 'The Bold Ones' ('New Doctors' out on 1 March - hopefully !) BEFORE I begin watching the other segments I've already got...!

silly really but I want to 'alternate' the segments when I watch them....but as a rule it's wiser to just enjoy the DVD sets as you get them

as a kid here in the UK 'Peyton Place' seemed so slow...but that was because we got just ONE episode a week to start with and later got two episodes over an hour each week - but of course in the USA it was on two or three times a week so it would have moved that much faster re the storylines...!

I have sets one and two and really have enjoyed them seeing them as an adult now, I hope the remainder are released soon

I enjoyed the later TV Movie where a murderer was on the loose - most cast returned except of course Mia, Ryan and Barbara Parkins (tho' they were seen in b/w 'flashbacks') - it tied up a few loose ends from the original show quite well - what was it called ?

Jeff sorry to be slow getting back to you. When Peyton Place went off the air in the States a daytime soap was developed based on the series and lasted two years. The show aired a one night time episode broadcast of Allison on trial for Murder. Martin Peyton faked his death in the soap too.

Then there was a Peyton Place reunion on late night with cast members interviews hosted by Peter Lawford called Peyton Place Revisited.

Two movies were made based on the series. Each had murders and flashbacks. Murder in Peyton Place and the other Peyton Place the Next Generation which was hoped to be turned into a night time series due to the popularity of Dallas and all of the cast returned including Barbara. Mia and Ryan no.

I have left links for you to read about the above.

Jason for sure get those Peyton Place episodes from Shout out and watch. Like I said before they are very well put together by Shout.

Sorry about Falcon Crest but do not give up. Family 1976 just received a German release. Would it not be great If Fox would do the same for Peyton Place. Fox did release the Ghost and Mrs Muir to Australia and some of their classic movies overseas. I still keep hoping for a PP release in whatever form. Enjoy the show!!!

I would love to see Peyton Place come out from Germany as Family 1976 has done. I would even consider best of series covering certain storylines or stars from the show. Such as Lee Grant Gena Rowlands Susan Oliver and of course George Macready. Then of course the main cast Ryan Mia Barbara best of episodes

Does not mean I have given up on a series release. I meant to say I will take the show in any form it is given to me. PBS did rebroadcast the episode on soaps with Peyton Place Dallas and Dynasty covered on Downton Abbey's season finale weekend. How I shall miss that show now that it is gone. Cheers to Downton Abbey!!!

Fans of the original 1957 feature film, PEYTON PLACE, may be excited to hear that Twilight Time has posted on Facebook that they have the rights to release it on Blu-Ray. Perhaps not as excited as if Fox themselves were releasing it, given that TT's edition will be limited and pricey, but at least it will come out. :)

Thanks for the update Glen. I had heard last year TT was considering the title. I wonder if they will release Return to Peyton Place. Peyton Place the movie is one of those made for a BD release.

March was painful: first I lost my mother and then I heard of the passing of our beloved "Steven Cord". My mother's health problems was one reason why I wasn't able to post here for a while. BTW, has anyone contacted either Retro-TV or Me-TV about showing PP?
