Sorta reminds me of those that wrote off TFA saying it was going to suck based on early trailers only to say they loved it after they saw it. I say lets just wait and see before passing judgement right?[emoji3]

I don't think the ending of the film is any more spoiled than what we got with Star Wars. Those trailers showed Finn with the lightsaber fighting Kylo Ren, for example. That wasn't everything in that part of the film, and I doubt Doomsday is everything about the end of the film.
Once again, I'm basing my thoughts off of having not seen the movie so I could and I hope to be totally wrong but to me, it seems like Doomsday and Wonder Woman should have been kept secret. I've seen the trailer alot of times and Wonder Woman always gets a good reaction so she's helping sell the movie (which is the point of a trailer) but I'd have vastly preferred to be surprised by her appearance because my reaction would have been "Holy crap, Wonder Woman is in this movie?!!! That's awesome!" As it stands now, I'll see the scene where she appears and think "Eh, I already saw it."

Except we knew Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman a couple years ago, so I don't get how they would have kept her a secret.
I deliberately stay out of the loop but I don't think I knew that WW was in this movie until I saw the trailer. Even if everyone was aware of her appearance, there's a difference between knowing that the character will be in the movie and showing what I assume is her big introduction (at least to Batman and Superman) in the trailer. Using The Force Awakens trailer as an example again, everyone was asking where Luke was and it created mystery & curiosity that eventually paid off when people saw the movie. The BVS trailer just put that money shot in the trailer.

I want this movie to be good and I'm not some bitter comic book fan who is rooting for the movie to be bad so they can say that Zach Snyder is worse than Hitler and George Lucas put together but even if I love this movie, I can't imagine ever not thinking that revealing those characters in the trailer was a mistake.

Seeing that she's going to be in a fair amount of the movie, I think a better comparison would be with Han, Chewie or Leia being in the TFA trailers.

Also, with TFA, the entire plot of the film hinged on "Where's Luke?". This film isn't about "Where's Wonder Woman?". It's about "What is the response to Superman?" Batman, Lex, the Government, Wonder Woman - they are all reacting to him.

Clearly, they are saving the big reveal of Matter-Eater Lad for when we see the movie. "Holy shit, did you see that kid eat that entire metal staircase in order to save the day? Epic!"

BTW, if you guys haven't read the Dr. Pepper promo prequel comics they're pretty great, and they give some good insight into the world views they are creating. I'm sure the same material will be covered in the first 20 minutes of the movie, too, of course.

If you Google them you can find them online via reddit

And there were those that liked the trailers but ended up not liking TFA. I plan to judge BvS based on the movie itself, hopefully I'll like it.

I saw the just-released new trailer in the theater today. I literally turned to my wife and whispered "meh".

Just not impressed with the storyline. I'll probably see it anyway (depending on reviews), but I await the next Superman-only film.

Yep. But there are already insiders that are debunking some of the nuclear elements of that report.

I mean, I'm sure that some WB execs are having pre-game jitters. This is a big film for them, and if disaster struck they would need a contingency plan. But there's just way too much curiosity about this film for the worst case scenario to occur. It has Batman in it, and everyone is loving those elements of the previews, so if nothing else that'll get them to $1 billion +, which means that their current plans will go forward. Sure, they might tweak a couple things here and there, and obviously they want a solo Batman film. But they're neck deep in JL prep as it starts shooting in April. Reports are that it would be impossible for them to move up production of a Batman solo film because of Affleck's other commitments. And they just spent 30 minutes of network time specifically about the JL.

The logical person looks at this and says even if its not the greatest movie ever made (which apparently it needs to be for some reason in order to be successful to some), its gonna push it all forward almost regardless of the reception. This doesn't mean it'll be for everyone, but it'll be the right groove for plenty, and it'll be fine.

don't get the people saying meh, visually looks good, and the one thing that has impressed me the most is that the cape ( Batman) is actually acting how it does in the comic books.

gave this new trailer about 50 plays, so far, maybe it's me, but Batman in this fights like he does in the Arkham game series, that alone is worth the price of admission

I feel like the skull crushing take downs are a bit over the top, but I guess that's consistent with Snyder's Watchman, if not a video game aesthetic.

Yeah the way he slams guys through walls and floors makes Bats look like he has super powers too. At least Snyder is consistent - he overpowered many of the characters in Watchmen as well.

The Batman is often hyper-realistic / fantastical in the comics in regards to strength. He's not supernatural, but he's a bit beyond what a mortal man can realistically do. It's akin to John McClane and other movie action heroes surviving injuries that would really make them immobilized or outright dead in the real world.
