Malcolm:

If you are using the HTF app on your iPad, yes, it is now dead. Something new is in the works.

In the meantime, the forum is now available through whatever browser you normally use on your iPad. And it has been configured especially for that experience. It is "mobile-friendly."
i will have to try again with a different browser this time, i was using safe browser by Kaspersky on the iPad and it wouldn't let me type a reply, i could only quote a post.

Okay it seems safe browser by Kaspersky is the issue as I can type using other browsers on the iPad.

I viewed chunks of Comin' At Ya.

Using my DLP link glasses, which I prefer, I felt a little uncomfortable and there was some ghosting in a few scenes, now with 99% of the films available in 3D those glasses work great, it seems this film is taxing on the system and glasses used.

I switched to my large and ugly RF glasses, now this was perfection, no ghosting whatsoever and no eye strain at all, much better.

Those opening titles look amazing, more pop out than all the recent Hollywood flicks combined, I sure wish more filmmakers did some of this, not asking for non stop the entire flick, just half a dozen good pop out moments per film, as seen in this movie.

Some of the effects work is a bit iffy, spears being thrown where you can see wires, also overdone if you ask me, as in repeated too much, the coming at ya moments were fine, just repeated too much.

Overall I must disagree strongly with those who are complaining about this film having crosstalk, that's your display or glasses or both.

This film deserves a top place on anyone's list of best 3D titles, now that doesn't mean the film itself is great, just the use of 3D is very good, albeit overdone in places from what I have seen.

I think this title will really show up weaknesses with certain display technologies, certain glasses and people will blame the transfer, I wish they wouldn't do that, this is not a problem with the transfer, sure the camerawork at times is not perfect, but crosstalk is a display and glasses issue.

Victoria Abril is gorgeous, I will watch all of the film sometime soon but nothing wrong with this transfer from what I have seen, no crosstalk, no eye strain and I watched a chunk of it in one go.

3D fans with DLP tech and RF glasses should buy this.

The problem I had with the disc, as Mike eloquently stated in his post, wasn't due to any ghosting or crosstalk baked into the disc or from my display - it's just that my eyes couldn't fuse some of the images. It wasn't a very well shot film in my opinion, and I don't think there's any display in the world that could make this a comfortable viewing experience for me. I wasn't seeing any ghosting or crosstalk - I was just experiencing pain.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this 3D film be watched after a long, stressful day at the office!

I picked up The Martian and Pan in 3D, haven't watched them yet. The last 3D I watched was Captain Harlock a week ago. It was pretty good as I recall. The animation was excellent and spectacular but my favorite anime remains Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira, my jaw dropped the first time I saw that on video tape back in the early 90's, a new world of animation had opened up for me light years away from singing animals and fairy tale princesses. :)

I tried watching Pan in 2D and I thought it was so terrible I gave up after an hour or so. I think I'll skip the 3D version.

I haven't watched Pan but have been reading here how it's better then expected. I still agree with you that if you don't like it in 2D, you probably won't like it in 3D.

I pretty much agree with this critic consensus from RT

26%

Critic Consensus: Pan finds a few bursts of magic in its prequel treatment of classic characters, though not enough to offset the rushed plot and shrill, CGI-fueled action.

A few of us found PAN to be much better than anticipated. And the 3D is very, very good.
Ron

I actually sought it out on your recommendation. To be honest, I think I was tired and in a bad mood when I tried to watch it. I will give it another try.

Hellooooo, anyone watched any 3D lately ? :3dglasses: :dancing-banana-04:

I enjoyed The Good Dinosaur. It's real 3D, and has excellent depth, but not much pop out. It has a decent story too (if you can get past Disney's penchant for
killing off one of the parents
).

The 3D BD is due out in the USA on Feb. 23rd.

I got pan and the Martian last week ready to watch, HT2 isn't out until Monday here in the uk, we are pretty much behind when it comes to releases, it's great to read about releases with great 3D but depressing when I hear 3D or the film itself is below par.
Going to watch The hobbit Battle of the 5 armies Sunday, I have enjoyed the films so far but the 3D could have been a little more adventurous I think! :3dglasses:
