Me too. That was the most interesting part of the episode for me; the culmination of this emotionally stunted version of Wells, this man who'd always had a single-minded focus on his work and on his daughter, being changed by the experience of working with this group of selfless individuals. And ultimately, reaching a point where he could no longer accept the suffering that was a consequence of his decision making. That's huge. That frees the character from the burden of being the show's antagonist and puts him on the path to true growth.

Add me to the group. I was so glad to see him come to this realization and I love that Barry and the team aren't going to abandon him or Earth 2.

Not reading anything in this thread but wanted to pop in and say I DEVOURED season 1 on netflix as fast as I could once I started, then went looking to see if I could catch up on S2, halfway in. As far as I can tell my Cable Co only has the last 5 episodes broadcast available and iTunes wants $50 for the season pass. Wraaaaaa!!!!!!!

I've been in that position before. It stinks, but glad you are enjoying the show.

Another good episode!

The highlight of this episode was Wells and his betraying Barry, then coming clean and everyone forgiving him. So, if they can steal Barry's speed, can't they steal Zoom's? Also, When Iris was hit with the shard of glass, I didn't want her to die. I've really grown to like her this season.

It is impressive how far Iris has grown this season. She just didn't work last season and now we care about her.

I think they are going to somehow figure out how to steal some of Zoom's speed in order to defeat him. I just can't see anything else working, but maybe they will surprise us.

Can't wait for next week's part 1 of Barry, Cisco, Dr Wells' visit to Earth 2. As such this week's episode seemed more like a filler episode. Not really caring about the West family drama. I am guessing all the speed stealing will some how result in Wally becoming Kid Flash. However with Barry still learning about his speed I don't see how he would end up as a mentor to Wally.

It seemed that the 2% loss of speed by Barry is permanent as Caitlin mentioned there was cell damage or something.

I've been waiting all week for a full-on adventure on Earth-2, and tonight's episode didn't disappoint. Just the right mix of gee-whiz spectacle, disconcerting revelations, humor and surprising emotional gut punches. My only real complaint is that we've got to wait another week for part two.

Some fun Easter eggs in the universe bubbles as they were crossing the breach. I caught glimpses of the nineties John Wesley Shipp Flash and CBS's Supergirl. (Also "Bruce", "Hal" and "Diana" on the Allen-West speed dial!)

I really liked that the show found a way to utilize Jesse L. Martin's considerable talent as a singer by making Earth-2's Joseph West a lounge act.

Killer Frost here looked a heck of a lot better than the glimpse we got in the first season finale. One of the things I've always found interesting about the pairing up of Barry and Caitlin on this show is that their characters' powers sort of counter each other: Energy versus entropy. The very things that made Captain Cold such a formidable opponent for the Flash are even more true for Killer Frost, since she doesn't have to rely on technology.

Deathstorm was a nice way to bring Robbie Amell back as a version of Ronnie. The implication that Martin Stein was essentially trapped inside evil Ronnie was a pretty dark note to hit upon. And of course Caitlin seems to lose the love of her life no matter what universe she's in.

The episode also really opened wide the possibilities of where Cisco's powers will take him.

Nice way to bring back Michael Rowe as Floyd Lawton without technically breaking the no Deadshot rule imposed by the feature side.

I'll be curious to find out who the masked man imprisoned with Barry and Jesse is.

Great episode! Barry just couldn't not help out his family, at least it lead to him finding Jesse. Hopefully, there's a tracking device in his suit.

It's too bad some of their Earth 2 counterparts were killed off, Carlos Valdes plays a great evil Cisco. I'd love to see him do that more. I'd like to see him develop his powers more too. I'd even like to see more Killer Frost. Glad to see Amell return.

It's interesting that Jay's speed wasn't stolen after all.

I thought there were some more things seen in the bubbles. I really need to take another look - anyone post them all somewhere? This page has the bit with those two and an archer.

A tremendously fun episode that didn't sacrifice the overall narrative of the season.

I was confused by the business with Jay - has he lost his speed or not? Was that Velocity drug mentioned before last night?

My understanding is that he's experiencing something akin to a narcotics addiction.

Like the Earth-1 Flash, the Earth-2 Flash was imbued with superhuman speed as a result of his Earth's particle accelerator exploding. But while Barry's super speed came from an interaction between lighting and the particle accelerator, Jay's super speed camer from an interaction between his heavy water radiation experiment and the particle accelerator. Both occurrences created a connection to the Speed Force, but Jay's connection was more limited than Barry's; while he was the fastest man alive on his Earth (before Barry), he was still slower than Barry.

In an attempt to enhance his speed, he invented Velocity-6. Initially, the drug worked as he'd hoped. But over time, he developed a physical dependency to the drug and required more and more to maintain his powers. As a result of continued use, he is no longer able to use his powers without it, and it is only effective for short bursts.

Caitlin used her bioengineering expertise to create a more powerful version with fewer side effects, Velocity-7, which temporarily put him back in action. But as we saw in last night's episode, the effects were still very short lived.

If events follow the comics, we will eventually get to:
Velocity-9 -- invented by Vandal Savage on the page -- which does imbue people with superhuman speed, but often with terrible other side effects. Given that Jesse and Wally are both speedster, yet neither has powers yet, my guess is that one or both will be exposed to Velocity-9

Earth-1 Barry talking on the phone with "His" Earth-2 Mom was a good scene.

Another teaser? When Cisco and Barry enter CCPD headquarters, the wall mural reads " A Free & Just Society" "Just Society" -------> Justice Society?---------> Justice Society of America? Overall awesome episode.

I'm well ahead of the curve for what's going on or coming for the show given my knowledge of the comics. That's why I try not to post much because so much would be spoilers for everyone else. But I can give some tips and hints on a few things:

1. Keep in mind Hunter Zolomon that was mentioned. He will be a very important player, at least in the comics. They have strayed from EXACT paths, so this could be a misdirect and most think it's too obvious for those of us that already know. Remember, for EVERY Flash, there is an equal and opposite Flash enemy.

2. A BIG hint is the shows continued use of what the serum for speed does to Jay. Hint, Hint! This could also be why he found Hunter Zolomon, yet seems unlikely to be the path they take for this one thing.

3. It's no mistake that Iris is still around and things didn't work out for Berry with his love interests. This is NOT a surprise for anyone that remotely knows anything about Flash history.

4. Evil Cisco is more like the version good Cisco will become in terms of powers as "Vibe" may be more powerful than most of them all. No spoilers, but wait and see.

I have more, but can't really give them out because they are tricky to not reveal too much.

I liked the plot line and overt emotional beats of this latest episode. Cavanaugh's Wells continues to be a superb character; the writing of this character is top-notch. And continue to be impressed by the writing for Joe West as well. He is an amazing depiction of a mature man and concerned father. I'm constantly surprised and impressed and happy with this character.

I liked the faux-50's retro-modern stylings, including the ridiculous telephones. The one detail I've enjoyed from the first are the vertical TVs :) It's such a simple and cheap tweak for the props department, but so effective to show it's a whole other world.

I am confused by Iris-2's partner. He gets so much screen time, I assume I'm supposed to know him and be shocked by his ineptitude. But I've drawn a blank on who he is on Earth 1.

Loved the revelation that Earth-2 Flash is actually dying of Force7 poisoning. I like that twist on his strong but flawed heroic character. We've seen his ego in action, but didn't understand how much that had driven him and consequently harmed him.

I was, again, a little frustrated by Barry making bad choices which lead to the danger. I appreciate the motivations this time are borne or his deep concern for his friends and family, translated to Earth 2 context. But this is a recurring aspect of the show I'd prefer be minimized.

In my ongoing habit of having troubles with the sub-text of the show that the writers don't consider: I was saddened by Barry Allen (Earth 1) standing in the stead of Earth 2's Barry Allen when Joe West died. Barry-1 had no place, no right, to be in that moment with a women who is not his wife. He robbed Barry-2 of that, for all the good and bad of that relationship. which is a profoundly selfish thing to do. This caught my attention, because I recently read a trilogy where a character is trying to insert himself into the life of his alternate self. But in that series, this character is something of a bastard, profoundly emotionally damaged from decades of problems, and his emotional complexity and bad choices are a theme. Here, I see the theme is introduced unwittingly I think. I know I'm picking at consequences of the constraints of TV-story telling for what are essentially adventures for 14 year old boys. But I will continue to hope the writers can improve and find ways to navigate both the overt and submerged implications of their writing.

Enjoyed tonight's fast-paced and exciting episode. Very sorry to see Jay get sucked back into the breach by Zoom.

It was nice to see CIsco get through to Killer Frost. Given that virtually everybody on one Earth has a doppelganger on the other, despite drastically different histories, it raises interesting questions. There must be some force keeping the populations parallel even as the worlds they occupy are drastically different. Maybe a smidge of Cisco's rapport with our Caitlin bled through a bit with Earth-2 Caitlin.

I'm glad Jesse came through the breach with the gang. Now that she's gotten a chance to do more than scream and be terrified, she's proving to be an interesting character.

A little bizarre how unfazed Earth-2 Iris seemed by his father's death the night before. This close to the event, she should have been a lot more traumatized and bereft. I feel like her reaction got lost in the shuffle a bit in the race to save Jesse and Earth-1 Barry from Zoom.

They acknowledged the nature in which Earth-2 Barry's life had been violated by Earth-1 Barry, but then it was right into the comedy of Earh-2 Barry as a plucky sidekick with no lasting consequences.

Interesting that the man in the iron mask wanted Barry and Jesse to know that Zoom is connected to Jay. We know that Jay isn't Zoom, since Zoom was operational in Earth-2 at times when the breach wasn't stable and we knew that Jay was on our side -- Also, we saw Zoom grab Jay in the final shot. My guess is that either the Velocity-6 somehow split Jay in two, or it has something to do with his Earth-1 doppleganger.
