I'm still trying to understand the logic of the search engine. I typed in "NFL" expecting to get a link to the current NFL discussion, but it didn't appear. What am I doing wrong?

I'm finding it easier just to search from the Advanced Search ("More") options. I get much more consistent responses from that section than the basic search box which I'm finding beyond frustrating.

I can't find a way to get it to default search to most recent and have to force it each time otherwise I just get a random assortment of threads or posts that are virtually worthless. The "relevance" search is a disaster with threads 10-15 years old often appearing well ahead of threads from last week basically making it totally irrelevant.

I was hoping the search engine would get a face lift too. Its logic remains beyond my comprehension.

To be fair, the search engine on the last platform was tweaked to near-perfection.

After a really rough start, it was brought to a place with lots of options/filters and excellent results. It might have been the pinnacle of HTF search engines. I'm confident that when the dust settles on the current migration issues, they will work their magic again.

I find it helps a lot--with the current search engine--to be sure to click the box that says to "search titles only." Of course, that presumes you have a keyword or two from the title of the thread you are looking for.

I do find the "search titles only" function helpful.

CHEERS! :)

Still not happy about the lack of a forced desktop version mode for iOS devices, but I'm liking the new forum software well enough that I just paid for a Premium membership for the very first time.

Now, go away ads! :)

Did y'all make changes that helped the Blu-ray Price Drop thread work better? Until today, I was never able to get it to load on my phone, but it now works.

Nothing specifically targetting that, but it may be due to some server side stuff we are working on.

Ah, I was wondering why I haven't seen any HTF notifications in my email for a while. Just thought I'd visit to see what's up and I see the whole site's been overhauled again.

I've marked many threads with "Watch and receive email notifications". The system works haphazardly for me as far as alerts and emails are concerned. Any thoughts?

From what I can tell, this software only sends those emails if you have visited the site. I'm still seeing how we can tweak it.

What's going on? I just got about 30 emails (and still coming) in the last few minutes saying I have unwatched threads. Each of them refer to the post directly previous to this by Dave Upton at 9:11pm CST.
