I watch tv 24/7 I right now have a rptv but an looking into fptv .I need to know do I need to look for a certain type to be able to watch without turning it off for weeks at a time or do all need a rest period. I am a frugal person but I do know when I need to pay for quality. Also 1 or 3 dLp and are there any passive 3D units out there. Thanks again.

I would not recommend a projector for your situation. Buy the largest TV you can afford.
Don't you sleep?[/QUOTE

I get sleep between going to the bathroom every 1 1/2. Now the room is would be using it is stays about 65 To 70° year round , would that make a difference on the projector overheating ?

Why do you leave your video going when you are sleeping or at work?

Most if not all projectors come with an internal lamp - and it has an estimate on how long it will last.

Looked up an example at projector people of a typical projector - Panasonic-PTAE8000U
Shows in Ecomode the following:

"(Brightness: 1920 lumens; Lamp life: 5000 hours"

So - running your projector 24/7 - roughly every 208 days you will have to replace the lamp - and they run for $341.00. That lamp time is calculated using "normal" running patterns - with cool off periods in between use - so you will probably average less than 208 days of lamp time.

They do make LED projectors - where the lamp life is longer - (LG model claims 30,000 hrs) - that will get you - if running 24/7 - 1,250 Days of operation...then you will have to replace the lamp.

The projectors are usually not designed to be run 24/7 -- so you would be better off getting something else.
