Tonight, a lifelong dream came true. I got to see the complete SB V broadcast (the pregame had Joe Nameth predicting a Colts victory). This broadcast included halftime as well as the original commercials (surprisingly the whole thing was more than 4hrs). I'll always be sad the way the Cowboys lost (recovering the fumble yet not being granted possession). But at least I can go to my grave having witnessed what transpired--and understanding now why Chuck Howley is the only player from a losing team to win SB MVP (because rightfully the Cowboys should have won the game).

I know it may sound strange but seeing this game tonight was a big deal for me, a top-ten wish my whole life. So many irksome questions have been answered.

What a great way to end the football season.

That is pretty cool. Where did you find it?

If Brady had been caught using HGH and sending thugs to threaten somebody's family people nationwide would be wailing that he is a cheater and the world's biggest a-hole and should be banned for life from the NFL and all of his trophies and achievements taken away.

In case anyone was still wondering where the apparent bitterness might come from.

Now we find that the Browns lied about Johnny Football having a concussion to cover up his showing up drunk to practice. I'll be curious to see how this affected the "integrity of the game. . ."

I'm working with the Paley Center for Media to ensure the archived version of The Fugitive has the correct music. Someone there asked me if there was anything, anything at all, that I wanted to see. I said SB V. They were kind enough to show me where I could find it.

EDIT: I should not even say if Brady had been "caught" because when it comes to Brady or anybody involved with the Patriots all you need to do is accuse them and then present absolutely no evidence they did anything wrong and a whole bunch of people would then just brand them guilty no matter how much actual evidence there was to the contrary.

Wow.
Pot, meet kettle.

One of the reasons I could never make sense of SB V from the NFL highlight reels is that they don't take into account explaining the rule differences back then, specifically about field position. For example: the Colts went for it on 4th and 1 on the Cowboys 1. They didn't get it, but instead of the Cowboys taking over there, the ball came out to the 20. Even more bizarre, field goals could double as punts. For example, the Colts tried a 52-yard field goal. It was short. The ball landed at the ten, bounced to the six-inch line, and stopped. That's where the Cowboys got the ball. And I could go on about changes like that. It was that stuff which left gaping holes of logic in the highlight reels.

What's infuriating to me, by the second half kickoff, the Colts had turned the ball over 5 times. The score: Dallas 13, the Colts 6. Curt Cowdy summed it up best: "Dallas has dominated this game on every play except for that one freak play."

I often wonder what history would have recorded if Landry had put Staubach in to start the second half or even the fourth quarter. I understand why he stuck with Morton; Morton had earned the position and Landry's loyalty. But it's still fun to wonder.

By the way, you could buy and new Chevy for $1,980 in January 1971.

I don't think there is one...other than that Pats fans are riddled with bitterness that most everyone outside of NE despises their franchise. Also, the "Patriot Way" refuses to acknowledge that anyone other than Belichick or Brady have ever accomplished anything. And if they do, it's only because the Pats were (1)- hurt, (2)- conspired against, or (3)- both.

I readily admit if the Taliban started an NFL franchise, I'd cheer for them over the Pats.
That's funny! I've often said that if it came down to the New England Patriots vs Nazi Germany I'd have no one to root for!

Except, that I have not made any unfounded accusations with regards to Peyton Manning but loads have been leveled at Brady, the Patriots and their coach with no actual evidence to back them up. Heck, I even support Manning using HGH as I think it is ridiculous the NFL would ban it. So, as far as I'm concerned he should have loaded up on the stuff and the only reason he has to hide behind his wife's skirt is the NFL labeled it a banned substance.
