The two games I'm looking toward playing next is "The Division". I saw a trailer for the new Ghost Recon it looks like a modern Fallout3/4. Full open world. This could be another great game year.

I do have a backup of games to play I got 3 new ones for Christmas just haven't been able to pull myself away from Fallout 4.

Destiny! Finally. :) It's basically CoD with RPG elements. And an annoying need to connect to network servers to play the "single-player" campaign. Some questionable design decisions, but the actual gameplay is a lot of fun.

I grow old. Resident Evil Zero is a bitch. But I still love it, and will finish it. In 2002 it was very fun game with scary atmosphere. in 2016 it is a scary game because I suck so bad at the item management, and whats this-no autosave-? Oh yeah now I remember, don't die on the way back to the save room or you can kiss that hour of gameplay you worked so hard at goodbye.

Still fun, but an entirely different experience. It is weird how spoiled as a gamer I have become. When I actually have to work to progress in a game it makes the game feel like a chore. 15 years ago it was par for the course :(

^ It's not just us "older" guys who notice that. The guys at the local "GameStop", who aren't even half my age, say the same thing: games were way harder 15 years ago (when they were 10?), and 10 years ago, and even 5 years ago you can really see the diff since. [e.g. the 1999 mode a few people mentioned for BS:I.]

Yup, thinking and planning is no job for an "old man". We do that when we're young so we don't have to do it when we're old (especially for a game). Supposedly. :) Actually, I specifically like certain types of games because of that, it's a good way to get a mental workout. Getting harder to find in newer games. I've been trying to gather slightly older stuff, and stuff "remastered" from older platforms. It does take a while to get used to them when coming from playing a bunch of newer games.

It's mostly an issue of time management now. Back then when I was young, I wouldn't care if I lost an hour of progress, because I had infinite time, and nothing else better to do.

Now it's a major pain in the ass, because I might have one hour maximum to play, with tons of other responsibilities, so if I lost that hour, it's like absolutely nothing was accomplished, and it was completely wasted.

I bought Amplitude and The Witness on PS4 over the weekend (both on PSN). Started The Witness and love it. Have no idea how far I am but probably got like 3 or 4 hours in it so far.

I'm still on Dragon Warrior II on the NES. Getting a little bit burned out but the end is in sight. I'm in the final tunnel before having to take a crack at the last boss castle. Problem is I have to grind up my level, so probably another week. :(

I'm eating lunch at work so I have a few extra minutes to type a more comprehensive post.

I have always loved video games but got burnt out after the disappointment of the Wii and 2 dead Xbox 360s and a lot of games which were geared towards online play and I had a really slow internet connection, making them much less enjoyable than they should have been.

Recently I have been able to bump my broadband speed up to 6Mbps and have been getting the itch to buy a new gaming console but I'm not sure which way to go. I have no interest in the Wii-U, and have been researching the Xbone and PS4. I have been reading reviews online which tilt the tables in the direction of the PS4 being the better console but I was wondering which way my fellow HFTers leaned.

Russell for the win!

All bow before my greatness! Or stupidity, it could go either way....

I have the PS4 and am in an abusive relationship with it. It was designed for GAMERZ, and in that sense it excels. Doing anything other than playing games with it, like watching blu-rays, "Media Player" files, or using that totally s**t "media Remote" and the PS4 will constantly remind you that it is for GAMERZ YOU NOOB and then slap you across the face with some stupid interface issue that shouldn't be there. Hopefully in the future we can work out our differences and have the beautiful relationship I have with my PS3.

I don't have a Xbox1 so can't comment.

I have a PS4 and love it. However, the XBOne does have some 360 game backward compatibility, if you feel like getting some older games.

It depends on how much time/money you want to commit to gaming and how much you are really into games. If you're not that hardcore, then the consoles are technically very similar. It comes down to exclusive titles or what your friends play on.

Just started Fallout 4. Don't know how far I'll go with it, but it's KINDA fun so far. Got it for $40 in yet ANOTHER Steam Sale (on right now, BTW), so I won't feel too bad if I abandon it somewhere down the road. Too many games, too little time...

My co-worker who was obsessed with The Witcher is playing Fallout 4 now. He enjoys it, but it seems to have some annoyances.

I'm kinda curious, since it's set in the Boston area. :) We'll see, once it hits the bargain bin.

Easy. Get both. Have the best of both worlds. If you can only get one, I say the XBOX One.

I finished up Dragon Warrior II the other day. Boy does that one get tough near the end dungeon! Very satisfying to finish though.

Moved on to Mass Effect 2 on the PS3. Barely an hour in. I've imported my save from ME1 and it feels like a bit of a cheat in how that works. That aside, I'm looking forward to running around the galaxy exploring planets and trying to sleep with all my teammates. :P

I played ME1-3 and not once had any interest in pursuing the romance stuff. I honestly didn't care for 90% of the sidequests, actually, with the exception of the ones in 2 that made your team survive the ending.

....Recently I have been able to bump my broadband speed up to 6Mbps...

Is that your download speed? Mine in 90 and would be close to 150 if I had a newer computer.

I have been playing on my PS3 The Evil Within, Dead Space 3, and COD Ascension zombies.
