How do I message, then? I'm not seeing any other options.

Click on a person's UserID and in the pop-up box click "Start New Conversation."

Or, hover over the inbox icon next to your own UserID and select "Start New Conversation" at the bottom of the drop-down menu and type in the name of the recipient.

Any news on more than one poll question per thread? Hopefully before the Oscars.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Email is still being worked on, so no password reset or notification emails

As I was just checking my preferences, I found that none of my e-mail boxes are checked...yet I am getting e-mails when people post in threads which I am "watching." In fact, one came in while I was checking just now.
This issue seems not yet fixed. I still getting emails like Mike mentioned above. And I too had all alert preferences off.
It's a bit annoying.

It looks like the HTF email notifications are getting sent to my spam folder in Gmail for "violation of Google's recommended email sender guidelines."
Mmm, good idea. It would be less annoying :D

I think I got it.
It is not in the Alert Preference area, but under Contact Details:
  • Receive email when a new conversation message is received
Email notifications for new conversations, replies to existing conversations, and being added to an existing conversation.

Nope. That only affects whether or not you get an e-mail if you get a PM (or "conversation" in our new world).

I had to turn that OFF, too, Thomas.

The owners had to fix my e-mail issue. It has even become known behind-the-scenes as the "Mike Frezon E-mail Issue." Folk songs are being written about it as we speak.

I believe Rob_Ray had the same complaint a bit earlier in this thread. I will try to point someone in your direction. No one knows better than me how much of an inconveneince these e-mails are (when you don't want them)!.

I am receiving one email for every new post in every thread that I watch. I thought I shut this off in my preferences by unchecking "replies to watched threads" in my alert preferences, but I am still receiving numerous emails every hour. Can this be shut off?

Rob: I am going to point the owners to your remarks here, too.

I mean, c'mon, if they are going to name this affliction after me it is the LEAST I can do help out those are overcome with it.

Mike,

I've solved my problem by unwatching each legacy thread and rewatching with the "without email notification" checked. Thanks!

Excellent, Rob! Thanks for letting me know. I wonder if that took you a long while?!?

I only ask because the owners told me I was subscribed to 3,820 threads!

Thomas, I wonder how many you are subscribed to?

It didn't take long, because of the 10000 threads I've subscribed to, only about 40 are currently active. I do the unwatch/watch routine on an as needed basis only, which keeps my inbox from looking like my boss'!

I'm not digging the notifications. I think this happened in the previous migrations and I understand why, but it doesn't work for how I use the forum. I'm used to getting a new e-mail notification each time someone replies to a watched thread. Now, it's only one notification and then I have to log back into HTF to get more. (They were also going to spam, but I think I fixed that.)

We had an issue that wasn't helping with spam that we fixed. Unfortunately notifications are what they are. There is noting to change on our end to get an email on every reply.

If you were subscribed to get emails from threads on the old forum, you will continue to get those even if you turn email notifications off. The email notifications check box is there for how you want to receive notifications on future actions. To modify existing threads go to your watched thread listings: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/watched/threads/all
and look to see if you are getting email notifications for that specific thread:

notify1-jpg.29160

If you want to change that then select Manage Watched Threads and Disable Email Notifications:

[
notify2-jpg.29164

It will ask you for confirmation. If you want to unsubscribe, check the threads you want unsubscribed and selecting Stop Watching Threads will unsubscribe you from them.

The formatting for quotes does not display properly underneath articles, but does in the the thread. I'm using Safari on iOS.

Also, I can't see all the prices in the WRU when in full screen landscape mode and of course we still can't see them in portrait mode which is how I prefer to browse.
We made some changes to the WRU today to make the grid easier to use on different devices and to make the links obvious.

You should be fixed up now.

Hey guys, I wasn't sure if anyone has tried, but I was curious if the HTF app still works. I tried it earlier on my iPhone 6 and just now on the iPad Air and it works! My subscribed threads are showing up and new threads since the migration are visible. Perhaps this is related to tapatalk?
