It is MGM that controls the show and is to blame for doing nothing with the remaining seasons.

Doesn't Fox control the DVD releases for MGM, or am I wrong?

In contrast, CBS's page for My Three Sons hasn't had anything posted since last year and those were "happy holiday" posts. Two posts all total last year. It seems that Constantly Being Stalled is weekly posting something about The Beverly Hillbillies, though the last couple of times they used screenshots from the 90's movie. I'm not going to say anything I have posted has had anything to do with a possible changing of their minds, but I take every chance I get to lambaste CBS on the TBH page, reminding them they stalled out the show after claiming it was a good seller for them. I even have memes made up that I post in response to their postings. I've encouraged people to contact Constantly Being Stalled about the show. Maybe enough people complained that it caught their attention.

I thought the 16 mm transfers for Petticoat Junction looked fine (If not great compared to what I had access to before MPI's collection). I even kind of thought that the fans of this program were nitpicking a bit about the lack of a remastered season 1 from CBS.

But after going back to the MPI release a while back, which utilized prints from Paul Henning's personal collection just as season 1 of The Beverly Hillbillies did, it's hard after seeing what CBS did with superior assets.

I'm glad PJ fans were spared what the Beverly Hillbillies fanbase is stuck with (Thanks I assume to the latter part of season 1 still being protected by copyright in the case of PJ?). MPI did a great job with the resources on hand, but the picture quality really can't compare.

Would be nice to not only see this one get unstalled, but to see season 1 get the remastering that it deserves.

I've heard more excuses as to why Ben Casey isn't being released...from poor film elements to music clearance issues. I think both excuses are a load of cr@p. IMHO the truth is, CBS doesnt feel it would be a profitable property to release.

It all ties in together though.

I actually have some prints from Paul Henning's collection. A friend of mine's dad was friends with Henning, and he was given pristine 16mm air prints of the Bob Cummings Show. I haven't had the heart to run them through a projector yet because it looks like they have never been screened.

Looks like an official Paramount release is coming for this April 26.

I'm surprised by this release. I had pretty much given up on CBS going back to S1, since it looked increasingly like they were abandoning the series. I will hope for the best - 35mm prints, HD mastering and no edits.
Looking forward to a nice b/w release here with this one.

Beverly Hillbillies season 1 will get an official release from CBS. Hopefully we'll see seasons 5 -9 as well.

Eh guys. Doesn't it seem strange that CBS/Paramount is putting this out when they haven't put out any TV DVDS in the past year since Bonanza season 8? It seemed like CBS was exiting the classic tv releases.

Unless we see the Clampetts eating Kelloggs cereal and/or smoking Winstons its not the CBS originals. Many of the original opening credits were on the MPI sets which make them worth keeping.

No evidence in the syndication bible that season 1 has been remastered.

It has been so long since they've released a classic that I've forgotten how this typically works; Do we usually see that updated before a DVD release pops up, or sometime afterwards?

If they just lazily use their existing syndication transfers for it, that won't go over too well.

Sometimes notices in the syndication bible have popped up late. I really doubt that we would see current syndication masters, although it's possible that the level of remastering won't be as high as with the previous releases.

Kinda disappointing that its not Season 5 as I am watching the show in order. I will buy this but not until after season 9 as I will then start the series over again. This is of no use to me until then. Hopefully this means Season 5 will be released later this year.

For those people who are experts, from which season does the cover photo come from?
