Hey Rounduppers!

One thing I'll be bringing up to the owners is that it's impossible to tell the difference between text with links and text without links.

On that note, the Amazon link for Convergence in blu-ray is just text without taking you to Amazon.

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike! Like the new format - although not seeing the post in line with the thread will take some getting used to...

The Amazon link to Life of Pi 4K Blu-ray still says March 1 release date.
In fairness to Mike F, earlier this week it was changed to 02-09-16, then it got pushed back to the original release date, 03-01-16 with the rest of 4K releases.

Nothing this week...Spectre can wait a long time, as far as I'm concerned.

Since everyone else is sharing their opinions on the new formatting, I'm fine with the shortcut to the whole article. No harm, no foul on this end.

Those links in the OP are taking me to an archived 2001 thread.

(I'm on Tapatalk on the iPad.)

#1 What's ABP? Not that it matters to me...but you might want to let Adam know about that.
#2 I think the article thing is here to stay.

Ad Block Pro. Demonize me if you want but I will stop going to sites if they blank out due to end users employing ABP. I hope HTF doesn't make us make that choice, but I'm not uninstalling it no matter how many banners there are at the top of pages. Adam already stated it's tied to my specific skin tho not ABP. Hopefully it adapts over time.

Bummer on Articles. Makes these threads about 50% less effective IMO. Why make readers swap back and forth?

Perhaps this is better handled in PMs...

I think you mean Dave?

I made some changes to the tables. In my testing on both desktop and ipad they are scaling much better. Can anyone having problems earlier verify that it looks better for them? Appreciate your patience, we are still playing with content like the WRU.

I don't want to rehash AB in this thread, but like it or not ads play the bills. For those who are are running them, we are going to let you know that you are no helping the site. If you are running premium, we ignore your AB as you are supporting the site that way. (Plug for premium: Its $1 a month gives you no ads, some enhanced site features and ignores your AB software). Back to the WRU.

I've held my opinion on this for a few days to see if I would find the logic or the good in it, but I have to totally agree. We now click or tap two times to get to the whole OP, and then I find that the thread is mirrored over on the article side, too. This is one change I don't understand, and Sam's "50% less effective" says it well. Like an ill-conceived presentation of a TV show or movie, it "takes me out of the experience".

Sorry on the name confusion, post Super Bowl haze :)

Re: ABP looks like my premium has run out, thought it was on auto renew, will get that sorted.

Articles still look like this to me at least on mobile:

Seriously, is there a reason for the article/ thread mirror thing? Because it's really annoying. (Not mentioned yet: when I'm looking at the article, it tells me I need to log in to add a comment, even though I *am* logged in.)

If there's a good reason to do it this way, then fine, it's not the end of the world, but if there isn't, I don't see the advantage.

There are actually a lot of good reasons, mostly boring behind the scenes ones. Ultimately the blog/articles will become the site front page and it will be a little more seamless then. You should be logged in as your login should sync. We have been doing a lot of work on the blog side so that might have caused a momentary hiccup.

Much better!

Although it still irritated me to click page one of this thread only to have to click on the article and have another page load...oh well. Like I said, I'm not going to leave the HTF or the fine folks here over it. I'm sure I'll eventually get used to it. Then it'll only be a minor irritation.
