The Hound of the Baskervilles for me. The Peter Cushing/Andre Morell/Christopher Lee version is my favorite Sherlock Holmes movie.

I listened to the Garden Of Evil DVD audio commentary last night. It's another of those where Nick Redman and his colleagues only discuss the music and the composer. It's a good commentary but it's not enough. We need a second commentary about the film itself and the people who worked on it. I hope if Mr. Redman reads this, he will consider sitting down with Julie Kirgo, who always makes splendid contributions to audio commentaries, and a knowledgeable Western enthusiast to record a separate commentary.

I agree that another audio commentary with Julie Kirgo and/or another western film enthusiast that talks more about the film itself and the cast would be much appreciated.

"Garden of Evil" and "Cat Ballou" out of the list - already have "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" from Arrow in the UK. On a side note I feel a little "cheated" with regards to the fact that "Rollerball" is being re-released by TT so quickly. I have no interest in starting "yet another discussion" on pricing etc.. on TT's model but I was under the impression that it was a limited release. Doing what has been done with an increasing number of titles from TT appears to undermine the usage of the term limited. TT should probably stop using the term, use a new term or publish some factual statement along the lines of "limited for 18 months" etc... or some equivalent legalese terminology :)

TT play a vital role in the market place (quality product, tackling titles others would not etc...) and I will happily, continue to support them with my purchases but I am beginning to feel just a tiny little bit cheated if you know what I mean. No axes to grind.

Regards,

You might be interested in the fact that we have now publicly stated several times that after this year we are discontinuing our reissue program. Apart from the 4 MGM mandated titles this year - (Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Rollerball, Alfredo Garcia, and The Train) - we have no plans to do another run on previously sold out blu-rays.

I appreciate the clarification - although I try to keep up to date, I have somehow missed the statements. Very much look forward to more from you folks.

Shakeel

I like it too. Makes me feel more comfortable and less hesitant about buying it the first time around.

I hadn't heard this either. Good news though.

Not sure I'd catagorize it as good news. I bought The Big Heat the first time around for example, and it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of it one bit to see it reissued so that more people have a chance to buy it.

Hound of the Baskervilles for sure.
Possibly Rollerball and Garden of Evil during a sale. Its been at least 10 years since I've seen Garden of Evil but from previous viewings on DVD and VHS I don't remember it fondly more of a mediocre western but maybe its ripe for rediscovery.

I totally agree. The only good news about not having a reissue is the potential implication that any future "re-releases" will be in UHD or 4k versions.

No reissue not only prevents others from owning the film, but it prevents you from replacing a disc lost or damaged.

The Big Heat is available in France, same transfer.

Twilight Time has always been limited edition. One should feel thankful for them having released a movie in the first place, rather than implying that they are preventing people from owning it by not reissuing. A reissue can come from other distributors besides TT after the 3 year window has expired. Maybe they feel people have come to take reissues for granted and as such feel no urgency to buy it the first time around. Only they know how it may affect their LE model in general sales-wise, and if they are doing this, then it must be for good reason. AFAIC, if it's in their best interest, then it is in ours as well. I want them to be successful and release gems from the vaults for a long time, which is not easy in this tough market.

And 3000 is a lot of copies. Most catalogs, even by the majors, don't sell that many.

Is there somewhere where I can see which titles are getting close to sold out? I know they have this page but, I thought someone had posted they can see how many copies they have left of each title.

He mentioned at the HTF meet in October that Twilight Time may have to reduce its run for each film to 1,500.

Yes, well at $40 a film (with p&p to the UK) it does cut down on the casual purchase. I'm not complaining, I have a few & it's great that TT have made their Blu-ray releases multi-region. Nick was in the soundtrack biz (& maybe still is), & he knows how things are going. Fifteen years ago CD's of old soundtracks nearly all had a 3000 copy run, well the same kind of titles get a 1000-1500 run these days, & are very slow to sell out. I just wish there were more fans of old movies & soundtracks.
