The only one of those I've actually ever seen in full was the anaglyph DVD version of Part 3 in 3D. I'm pretty decent as far as movie variety goes, I've seen most of the things that most people say you should see, but I have a bit of a blind spot for horror... they just never seem to scare me. That being said.. is it worth seeing the original Friday The 13th even if I'm this late to the party?

Josh the original is my second favorite behind part 3. I guess the reason I'm so attached to the Franchise is I ran most of the Fridays as a manager/projectionist when they were released 1st run at theatres back in the day. Scary? Not really but I've got some pretty good stories to tell about audience reaction, especially the original.
I would give part #1 a look....just because.

Cool, I think I will! Might take me a while but I'll try to make sure I don't miss it this October :)

Watching this tonight.....for the 1st time. 2D Version.

If it's not too late... if I can make a friendly suggestion, please don't bother watching Gravity in 2D. That's very much a "3D or bust" title for me. Half of the movie is feeling like you're floating in space, and in my opinion, you just can't get that watching it in 2D.

Ha Ha too late Josh!! Someone gave me the 2D disc so that's all we had tonight. I'll pick it up in 3D and view it again. Even in 2D it was entertaining. Thanks for the heads up.

I'd like to hear recommendations for a projector capable of 3D but also has lens shift memory. I'm tired of having to zoom between 2:35 and 1:85. I'm such a fanatic for "perfect" aspect ratio I spend 5 minutes centering the picture and making sure it's fitting the masking perfectly. I need a projector that will switch between both formats with the push of a button. Maybe something between 3-4 thousand dollars???
Am I just dreaming here?

The Panasonic 8000 has motorized zoom and electronic image shift with multiple memories (the manual shift is only usable during initial setup). It can accommodate most of what you want to do for under 2 grand, though it is an older model now and also isn't as bright as your Epson (and, IMO, the 3-D isn't as good as the Epson).

The JVC units have fully motorized zoom and lens shift, along with multiple memories. You'd probably be happier with them than the Panasonic. Model JVC DLA-RS400 (aka X550/X5000) goes for around $3500. You can find a lot of discussion at AVS about the JVC line.

Dug out an old 1955 35mm Technicolor print of "The Americano" tonight. This little know title stars Glen Ford. A bit scratched up but still a great western style motion picture. Also starring in this title was Frank Lovejoy who along with Vincent Price was featured in "House of Wax" (1953)
