Hmmm... maybe. If Jason is going to back and see that, maybe he can clarify.

Confirmed. It is the two kids who get vaporized in 2016 right after the time ship leaves.

This was a fun pilot. It didn't wow me, but it was good enough to keep watching. I like at least half the actors a good deal, and the rest are fine. (I'm still not crazy about Hawkman; I've not believed him as his character since his introduction on The Flash.) I'm curious where it goes: I'm not sure there's enough here to not be Dr. Who's Justice League, nor enough story to carry 10 lead characters. Still, Purcell has had me hooked since John Doe; Purcell / Wentworth together are great as they chew the scenery; and Purcell now playing a lunk only adds to the fun!

I have two meta-questions that bug me in suspending disbelief:

1) Where's Superman in the fight against Vandal Savage?

2) Why is this not trivially solved with Rip Hunter spending a few decades training as a sniper and then eliminating Savage at some convenient time-space location?

Apparently Savage eventually regenerates if he is not killed by the Hawk-couple. So, sniping him just delays things and he might be ready the next time around.

Superman doesn't (yet?) exist in the CW's DC Television Universe. It's one of the roadblocks that prevents crossovers with "Supergirl".

In The Flash episode, he was killed by Barry with Sysco's super gloves combined with the meteor rock that caused all the magic. Hawk-couple were part of the fight, but the didn't kill him. Savage's dust was collected by someone (I don't watch Arrow) and presumably resurrected Savage.

Is the inference that Savage can't be killed unless by Hawk-duo? My impression was that he'd be dead if Barry and co hadn't collected and stored the dust away from evildoers.

It was Malcom Merlyn in the tag scene who picked up the dust and talked to it saying he would owe him a favor. If Barry and folk had collected the dust and had disposed of it somewhere inaccessible, then I would think he would have been done for good. While if the Hawk-duo had personally killed him, then that would have been the end.

I missed this last week but did watch it tonight and it didn't do anything for me. I just couldn't get into it. Most of the main cast was good.

Man, Caity Lotz is just killing it freed from the angst of "Arrow". My favorite scenes in tonight's episode all involved (and drugs!):

1) Sara knocking the younger Martin Stein unconscious with a four-foot-tall plastic bong.

2) As older Stein, Jax and Sara left the lab, the camera lingers on three joints in the younger Stein's ash tray. Sara's hand slips back into frame and nabs them.

3) The same trio getting ready to retrieve Palmer's tech from Savage's lab, and Jax questioning whether she's too stoned to take down a room full of people, and her replying that she'd have to be dead not to be able to take out that group. And then proving it.

Good wrap-up for the pilot (with a big surprise I wasn't expecting).

The only reason I suspected it might be coming is that in all the early press, he was credited as a guest star when the rest of the team was credited as series regulars. I was then surprised to see him credited as a regular these two episodes. It's a small thing, but it helped keep the surprise. Of course, this being a show about time travel and him playing a character that reincarnates across centuries, I doubt we've seen the last of him.

I liked Victor Garber channeling some of his Jack Bristow there for a bit.

Fun start to the series and nice to see some the characters being given some additional motivation to act against Savage,

It was also nice to see Damien Darhk (currently the big bad in Arrow) looking just the same back in the 70s.

Picture from this week's episode. Speculation about what is happening. Funeral? Resurrection? A way to locate Kendra? A way to extend Vandal Savages' life.? Turning Carter into a Zombie or a Vampire? Are they preparing to drink his blood?

At least we can see now that Savage can be defeated. Not killed, perhaps, since he's immortal, but at least it gives the heroes something to fight for.

Caity Lotz is fast becoming this show's MVP. Great work so far in the show.

Enjoying the show, but the Hawks are the weakest actors on the show. Hawkwoman is simply painful to watch

Are multi-part episodes going to be the norm for the show? Loved Captain Cold tonight, but the noisy bickering with Firestorm has really played itself out for me.
