Saw this a week ago and really liked it... even though I'm not a big horror fan (though I've seen a few in theaters of late, which was rare for me in the past... except way back when I was a kid, LOL). Maybe I'll try seeing it again in a theater, if there's not enough coming to fill up my AMC...

The studios (mostly, w/ very few exceptions) aren't by this point. They're just doing their thing(s), whatever seems fine for their bottomlines. The point is they just don't care about the purists by this point. Paramount, for example, clearly doesn't care while Disney, well, won't even...

And of course, there are purists, and then, there are purists (as has been discussed a little bit in connection to these releases)... and not all "purists" actually agree on what's actually "pure" enough anyhow... much like in other artforms like classical music, which I previously loosely...

IF you're an audiophile, I'd think you'd likely be choosing some other player than the 820 instead... whether the 9000 or some other brand... unless there's an audiophile-oriented modded version of the 820 (I'm not aware of) perhaps... Still, at least some audiophiles do prefer digital...

Interesting. When I saw Dune 2 at the Time Square AMC's IMAX screen around mid-March, thought it looked like it might still be in 2K -- I noticed signs of pixels/aliasing even though I wasn't quite that close to the screen in either row D or E. I also saw it in Dolby at that same AMC the week...

Sooo... does this need to be seen in IMAX... even though it's apparently just 1.9:1 for IMAX? I'm debating between seeing this in Dolby and the giant Lincoln Square IMAX -- probably not gonna see it in the smaller (2K?) IMAX screens. _Man_

I considered seeing it at a theater several weeks back (probably during its 2nd or 3rd week of theatrical release in Feb), but... And now, it's already streaming on Peacock in 4K (in what seems like record time), so probably check it out there first me thinks... as that's what I'll likely do...
