A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Wizard of Oz — in 4k UHD Blu-ray

I put the following in my cart 2001 Guardians of the Galaxy Wizard of Oz They each show the 3 for 2 note, but the total comes up as $77.71 with the aforementioned $0.20 discount. They were listed under the "see all" link of the "Featured 4K UHD Movies" page. Update: Actually 2001 was shown...

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Wizard of Oz — in 4k UHD Blu-ray

This doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried several times and all I get is a big $0.20 discount!

Yet Another Reason for the Physical Media Mkt (DVD, Blu, UHD Blu). Netflix cancels 11 titles.

Unapologetically old school, I have never subscribed to Netflix or iTunes and have never streamed any movie content.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Kong Skull Island -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Their website has continually said unavailable for order. When I went to the store the shelf was bare. Now the website says check at store! What a great way to alienate your former customers! When I clicked on the steelbook on the website, it took me to the standard version, which I...

Where do we go from here? Life after disk media...

The Amazon Effect strikes again. It's so much easier to click a few times and immediately order what you want and have it on your doorstep in a couple of days than to trek all the way across town and search the shelves for what you want (and probably not find it). Sadly, for a commodity like...

Why optical disc won't die anytime soon

I have never downloaded or streamed a movie and I don't plan to. My TV is not even connected to the net. If they stop making discs, I will watch only the disks I already have. I can live without any new movies - as evidenced by Hollywood's recent dismal output.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Vendors, film piracy and national security

Seeing many snazzy images used by members as part of their profiles, I wonder how many of those images are copyrighted, and, if so, whether the user has licensed their use?

Blu-ray Review The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under Blu-ray Review

3D WHV Announcement: Journey 2 The Mysterious Island (3D Blu-ray Combo) (Blu-ray Combo)

Well, it's not even available to be ordered yet, anyhow.

Best Buy to close 50 stores in restructuring. Do you still shop at Best Buy?

I admit that I have fallen victim to the lure of Amazon - but only for DVD/BR. I just don't have the time or energy any more to drag myself over to the store (about 10 miles each way). I do occasionally buy some stuff from the cut-out bins if I happen to be there. My most typical purchase is...

    First UltraViolet titles announced

I have never streamed or downloaded a movie and I hope I never have to. This just spawns more FUD IMHO.

What James Bond film needs to be released in the next boxed set?

I think OHMSS was closest to the original novels in it's presentation. Lazenby may not be the best Bond, but I think the movie was very well done and consistent. (Of course, having Diana Rigg is a big plus!)

HTF Poll: How do you have your surround system configured? Vote and you could win a $50 Amazon gift

Do you have to post or does the system enter you for the drawing automatically when you vote? Not that I really have a lot of interest in a drawing - never win one anyhow. My answer: I have a 7.1 capable system, but I am only using it in a 5.1 configuration. Just too much trouble to run cables...

    Weekly RoundUp 2-1-2011

Eventhough it doesn't look like you should, I entered the UPC code and got the coupon. That's exactly right! My problem was that I was entering the wrong code. I'm afraid their site is right confusing!!
