Well, Amazon cancelled my preorder. It's currently listed on the site as unavailable. So I won't be the guinea pig after all. Guess I'll stick to the current Blu-ray this Easter.
I watched the DVD of this on Halloween, and wondered how much better it would be on Blu-ray. Looks like the answer to that is MUCH better! I'm looking forward to getting this.
I pre-ordered the reissue, hoping for a remaster. I'll either be one of the guinea pigs, or(hopefully) someone else will see get this before mine ships and will give us the good or bad news. If this were a major remaster, I would think we would have heard something about it via Robert Harris or...
I hope it happens. DC is publishing a Batman/Green Hornet comic book that uses the likenesses from both of the television shows, so apparently some kind of agreement was made.
It doesn't surprise me at all that Romero has that effect. He, along with False Face, scared the hell out of me as a kid. The villains are much more sinister in the early episodes.
I'm as broke as anyone(I've had serious medical issues lately), but I agree, Jack. I'm selling other stuff I don't need so I can buy this set. I've waited forever for it, no way I'm missing out on it. Life is too short. But if someone really can't afford it and doesn't have other collectibles or...
My favorite TV show(along with BATMAN). I want to buy this set, but at this price, I hope there's a ton of extra material. The DVD's aren't really all that bad, except for a couple of episodes.
Wonderful post, and I couldn't agree more about how fantastic Newmar and company were in conveying the characters personalities right from the comic books.
I hate to take this too off topic, but any problems with the Superman franchise from the 1978 film until SUPERMAN IV are the fault of the producers(in the case of I-3 the Salkinds, and IV the Cannon group). WB just acted as a distributor for those films and had very little, if any, creative control.
