Arrow has teased they will be releasing this in the UK. Probably cheaper to import their release than pick up the A24 shop exclusive.

Press Release Criterion Press Release: The Servant (1963) (Blu-ray)

Criterion really has avoided double dipping on Blu-ray. Setting aside a few titles in the Bergman and Fellini sets, Monterey Pop is the only time they have re-released a Blu-ray with a new transfer. So it is a pretty safe bet that if they are going to re-release something like Breathless or Le...

Press Release Criterion Press Release: The Servant (1963) (Blu-ray)

The Virgin Suicides and Night of the Living Dead are the 4K upgrades that are closest to the original Blu-ray release (about 4 years for both.) I think about 5 years is enough time to not be upset at an upgrade, especially if those releases happened before a company started releasing UHDs...

Yeah, no Canadian films for you! Actually, anyone can sign up using a VPN, which is not needed after signing up, as the channel isn't geolocked.

Salo and The Trilogy of Life are owned by MGM, and I believe the 9 titles in this set are all now with Janus. So the omission of Salo & The Trilogy of Life's is likely licensing related. (Although they did duplicate the Fellini MGM titles in their Fellini box.)

Dear Criterion: May We Please Have RODAN?

Toho has done a 4K resto of The Mysterians. The issue with all these is when (and if) Toho lets Criterion have access to the new masters.

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

In addition to the rights issue with Bullet in the Head (the film's non-HK rights are owned by a company that is no longer in the film business and they have no interest in licensing the film), rumor has it that the elements for Woo's preferred cut no longer exist.

Press Release Criterion Press Release: The Last Hurrah for Chivalry (1979) (Blu-ray)

Unfortunately those are with a property management company and rumor has it that they aren't interested in licensing out titles, they want to dump the entire Golden Princess catalog. Which is likely too much money for any boutique. Add to that there are a lot of titles in the catalog that just...
