1 - The weak magnetic field certainly doesn't help the planet, but as it turns out, the rate at which the atmosphere is disappearing cannot be fully attributed to the solar wind alone. Gravity isn't the issue, despite the common narrative.

Finally saw #3 last night. Offering the dissenting opinion on these movies. They had no right to be as good as they were. Yes the third one suffered from a thin, unbelievable plot, but I just don't care. Tatum is so enjoyable to watch.
