Another Oblivion Question
I can't seem to find an answer to this in the strategy guide so I thought I'd check with some of the hard core Oblivion players. Is there any way to sell a horse? I bought a paint and now wish I would have waited to get a better horse.

Re: Another Oblivion Question
Never tried selling, but have you tried killing it?

Re: Another Oblivion Question
I don't even own a horse yet.
I've read there's no way to sell a horse. Which seems like a flaw. There should be a mod to fix that now or in the future.
In the mean time, don't kill the horse yourself if you don't want it. That's cruel. Take it in the woods, find a very nice place for the horse to stay, say near a bear cave, and walk away. Just walk away. Don't stay and watch. Just walk....

Re: Another Oblivion Question
If I can't sell it, I'll just keep it. Trust me, a slow horse is better than no horse.

If you think that's cruel, then you'll love how I get houses. I bought one house, but kept forgetting which city I bought it in, so I break into a random house, kill the tennant and use it as my home. On average, I usually kill about 1/10 of the city population and just store my goodies outside the city gate (since there is no way I can remember which house I dumped it in)

A game like that just gives you the world to do with what you want. Can't be beat! My current character is a nice guy. A thief! But a nice thief. During one quest, the one that has me meeting this paranoid dude out behind the church at midnight...
I'd like the thief system of the game changed and made more dynamic. If someone doesn't see me steal it, or a relative of the guy doesn't come by and notice, then it should not be marked stolen. Doesn't make sense.
I've been wondering where to keep all the crap I have. I spend some time selling off a bit of it after my pack gets full. Morrorwind has crates everywhere that nobody minds if you put stuff in. Is Oblivion the same way?

Re: Another Oblivion Question
I'm glad to see people are still playing Oblivion. I play for a few hours every couple of weeks since the PC game came out in April '06. I have about 100 hours of game time in, and a long, long way to go (and I'm NOT even including the recently-installed "Shivering Isles" expansion). I get so caught up in wandering around looting every cave, fort, and Oblivion gate I encounter that I've completely forgotten about the main storyline/quest.
Recently Seen:SMALLVILLE: Season 7, "Nim's Island," "Leatherheads," "I See You.com," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"
Current TV Roster:ENTOURAGE, HEROES, MY NAME IS EARL, THE OFFICE, THE SIMPSONS, KING OF THE HILL, FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, LITTLE BRITAIN USA, CALIFORNICATION, SNL, KATH & KIM,
Recently Heard: NIGHTWISH: "Dark Passion Play," METALLICA: "Death Magnetic, " "NIGHTWISH: "End of an Era," NIGHTWISH: "Oceanborn"

If you buy a house, or get one through a quest (Thieve's guild and the like), there will be a chest inside that you can fill with anything you want. I think if you leave stuff in a random chest, it has a chance of disappearing.

Re: Another Oblivion Question
You know, I was never really into rpg's(just shooters) until I played this game. I cannot get over how much you can do and see in it. I can't seem to get enough! And I agree with not putting your stuff in some random chest! However, have you seen the price tag on the houses? Last night I tried to buy the dump on the Waterfront in the Imperial City. And although I've got enough money to buy it, the lady at the Commerce place says,"I don't know you well enough to talk about that". Whats that all about?!! Anybody know whats up with that?

You need to raise her disposition. You can do it the normal way or just be lazy and bribe her.
Eventually, you'll have more than enough money for the houses. One character I was working on owned all of the houses available before I finally got bored with him. Just make sure you bring back anything worth selling when you clean out an area. The cave on the SW of the imperial island is a place I love to go to get good loot, and it resets itself after a few days.
