PS2 slow load

I haven't played my PS2 much over the past year and a half or so, and now it has extremely slow load times. When I turn on the unit, it will take 5 minutes or so to load up to the main game screen, and each time I make a selection, it is another several minutes to get to the next menu. It does this with every game I have.

Is there anything I can do to bring my console back? It is only 4 years old.

Blow some compressed air through it. There's probably some dust on the lens (this is an extremely common problem with PS2s).
