how do I set up my PC monitor to work with xbox 360?
I have a very nice PC monitor with support HD. So yesterday, I hook my xbox 360 to the monitor via the MS VGA cable, and I got a great picture. I think it looks better than my HDTV since the xbox 360 can only display at 480p.
So even though I got a great picture, I got also very confused with all the resolutions offered by the xbox 360 when it is connected to the monitor via VGA.
I don't remember all the resolutions offer by the xbox 360 since I am at work now, but I do have the resolution specs for my monitor. My monitor, a Viewsonic vp201b model, has the following recommended or supported resolutions:
1600x1200 @ 60 Hz (recommended)
supported:
1280x1024 @ 60, 75 Hz
1024x768 @ 60, 70, 72, 75, 85 Hz
and a few others lower resolutions which I don't care to list. So my question is: what resolution should I select when setting my xbox 360? I only remember that the xbox 360 did not offer me the option to set it at 1600X1200. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
One more thing added here. According to this found on the net:
the xbox 360 is capable of output in the following resolutions:
(a) 640 x 480
(b) 848 x 480
(c) 1,024 x 768
(d) 1,280 x 720
(e) 1,280 x 768
(f) 1,280 x 1,024
and
(g) 1,360 x 768.
If I am correct, I believe I set mine to resolution (g); however, I don't know if this is the optimal resolution for my monitor. Should I have selected resolution (f) instead?
