ehhh.... it's like watching an announcement movie trailer where none of it is actually movie footage

i was hoping for a xmas 06 release but i guess that won't happen unless they surprise us.

What I gathered from G4TV's interview with Peter Moore was that Microsoft is banking heavily on Epic's Gears Of War to be the 360's system seller, at least for 2006. I assume that the HALO movie is still slated for release sometime next year; if this is the case, the cross-promotional tie-ins between the film and game could be fairly substantial.

The footage from the Halo 3 announcement is actually from the game and was running in real-time on X-Box 360 hardware. GameSpot did a sit-down with some people from Bungie and they not only confirmed this, they played around with it on a 360 to show it was in-game visuals.

you could probably tell that these were 360-rendered in that if they weren't, they'd have looked ALOT better... like Final Fantasy 7 or something...
