PSOne games on the PS2

I thought that there was a way to use the old memory cards with the original games on the ps2. When I play my old games on the ps2, I can't save. Am I mistaken or am I doing something wrong?

You should be able to save PSOne games on both PSOne and PS2 memory cards; the only catch with the PS2 memory card is that, while you're able to save PSOne data onto it, you won't be able to retrieve it. The save data will need to be transferred from the PS2 memory card back to the PSOne memory card before it can be used by a PSOne title.

That's incorrect, Ken. PS1 games need a PS1 memory card. They will not save to or recognise PS2 memory cards. Saves from a PS1 memory card can be transferred to a PS2 memory card (using a PS2 obviously) to back them up.

high resolution ipod featuring dlp hd programming is the best, almost as good as playstation 2 with wega windows media on a super cd! ps2 and tivo do dolby tv with broadband hdtv!

I stand corrected. :b I read on another forum that someone was able to successfully save PSOne data directly to a PS2 memory card; naturally, I couldn't verify his claim.

What I did was put a PS2 memory card in slot 1 and a PS1 memory card in slot 2. That way you have both your basses covered.
