Xbox Video/Audio out question

I just got a xbox and I have a HDTV so I'm going to pick up the HD cable link for it. I don't have a DD reciever, is there a way to use L/R audio outs?

All the component cables for xbox, no matter what brand, have analog L/R audio out. You will be fine.

Sweet, thanks.

I was worried I'd have to buy a new reciever. It'd be a good excuse though....

Yes, if you need another excuse for a DD receiver, besides the thousands of wonderful sounding DVDs out there, Halo and Halo 2 are great excuses. Kind of like "Let me make my own action movie sound mix!"

I'm getting a 30 inch widescreen with component video inputs, so I'm going to get the psyclone xbox component cables, is it worth getting a digital optical audio cable, the cables have a built in digital optical port?
