Is anybody else having trouble picking out the right team to kill at times? I don't know what it is but sometimes it takes me a second to figure out if they are my team or not and I keep thinking I must be missing something. This lost time can have deadly consequences. Things like Warthogs, Banshees and Ghosts seem particularly difficult to tell from a distance.

The first few games I had problems, but it's real easy to tell who is on your team. Your team mates have their shoulder patch with a big arrow pointing down at them. The enemy just have their names. From a distance, you can easily see the big arrow (even if you can't make out the shoulder patch picture). So if something is moving and it doesn't have an arrow, fire away.

I've been trying to get 8 people for some clan matches, but everyone I invite seems content to stay in their "custom" games. Wassup fellas?!?!

Sorry about my performance during my last game against the Spanish clan. I was basically playing with one hand since the other was used to hold my cell phone.
And I also noticed that the mute button was still on when I left the party, so I was saying goodbye to no one but myself

Will try to get online again soon, but yeah if people can help out when we send the call out for help w/ Clan matches, it helps our rankings!
I cannot emphasize the things that have been said already:
1. Check out LaMarcus's hints
2. Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork.
3. Learn to use the radio as it talks only to your teammates. Tap the white button and you'll hear a split second of static. Start talking. When you stop you'll hear the split second of static again. Be careful as proximity voice is on at all times, so if an enemy is near you, they'll hear what you're saying into your radio.
Some hints on the games that have bombs: if you have the bomb, use stealth when you can, and talk softly and use the radio to tell your teammates where you are, and how you're going to try to get into the opposing base.
If you're on DEFENSE and you see the bomb, radio your teammates to tell them where it is. Especially if you're outnumbered. If you die, as soon as you re-spawn use the radio and tell all of your teammates where the bomb last was before you died.

Okay, I bought H2 tonight finally. Taking it for a single player spin to get up to speed. Put it on Heroic and have been getting cut down at a pretty good rate.
BTW, I don't have the headset yet and thought I'd wait to see how much use I'd really get out of one before I bought it. So if you guys all use one then I'll pony up, otherwise I'll skip it for now.

Okay, I'm gonna take that as a big "BUY THE HEADSET", unless Carlo is talking about canned radio options.
NaptownSeth will definitely be on tomorrow night.

Thanks for all the Clan invites everyone. I must have had at least 7 on there. I played from 6pm to 1:30am EST. some good hours logged in, but its not hard to figure out that I need to get a lot better. This weekend I should have a lot of extra hours to log in on XBL. Anyway, hope to see you all on later.

Amazing how quickly this has grown! I'm going to move it to Online Scheduling and make it a sticky.

Frustrating night for me yesterday. I was on for perhaps 2 hours max. Don't know why, I sucked even more than usual with the regular weapons. I lost 95% of my engagements... even when I sneak up on someone they just turn around and blast me away in 2 seconds, while I have been firing like crazy for at least 5! (yes, even with the plasma riffle / SMG combo).
Good thing is, I did hone some sniper skills, I know where to find the gun on some of the maps and can get in a couple of kills, especially at the begining. Camp, snipe, immediately peel off to another location, camp, rinse and repeat... it takes a lot of patience, and I may not get 20 kills per match, but the rush of each painstaking kill is so worth it! .

OK,
I too felt a bit useless during some of the clan matches last night. Got a respectable number of kills, but as was pointed out, that doesn't necessarily help your team win.
Some aspects of teamwork are easier than others. If you see your guy running with the enemy's flag, it's pretty easy to know to run in and cover them. Pointing out where you saw an enemy is easy too. But a couple of people were yelling for us to do stuff which I either didn't understand, or I was nowhere near the area. Then they gave us all shit after the game for not working as a team.
One quick tip I think I noticed might help. If you are driving the warthog waiting for your guys to come out with the flag, do not ever stop driving around. If you stop, you'll get rocketed or grenaded for sure. Better to not engage at all if you can run.
Also, sorry for all of you I accidentally shot at! The good news is that I usually stop right away. The bad news is that I did betray one of you, but you had jumped in front of my blazing guns with no shields left, so it wasn't even a twitchy trigger finger issue.
Anyway, lots of fun. Hopefully I'll get better. :b
How did the AVS challenge go?

Last night on one of the game, I fell in with this group that was really good at team work. When I had the sniper riffle, there was always someone covering me, and telling me when someone was getting close, when it was time to bail. Which was REALLY cool because I didn't have to stop looking into the scope to check my radar every few seconds like I do when I am alone, and could concentrate much better .
We need to learn to do stuff like that.
