I have a PS2 and a 51" HDTV widescreen TV.
I have my PS2 connected with the standard A/V cables that come with the console.
I was wondering if I were to purchase the PS2 component video hookup cable and hooked that up to the PS2 and TV instead of the standard Sony cable would I notice a difference in the picture quality or would it still look the same as using the standard cable?

What would give me the best picture quality?

You will get an improvement in the picture quality, but the biggest gain is you will be to play games in progressive scan that support that feature. There are not a huge list of PS2 games that run in 480p, but there are some good ones out there.

I saw a huge improvement switching from the SONY branded component cables to the Monsters (I know, I know) on my old RPTV.
